It has more to do with the amp than the HU as the signal is processed in the amp then sent to the sub/speakers.
Adding the Bose system onto a stock one wouldn't be worth the time or hassle IMO, better to just go aftermarket.

edconline, you should include the spare tire screw, it is extended for the Bose sub.

(hoping you sell yours, I have a complete system to sell including the head unit and don't want to undercut)
