Default SmartTop

Before I sold my beloved 370Z Roadster I removed the SmartTop unit I had installed in it. It is in perfect working condition and updated to the latest firmware from the manufacturer. This is an absolutely awesome mod allowing you to raise and lower the top without having to hold the button down the whole time.

Some Features:
Opening/Closing of the top with your remote as you approach the car
Opening/closing while the car is moving with a safety cutoff preventing operation above a set speed
Opening/closing the windows with the remote
Allows window operation for 60 seconds after the car is turned off
And some other minor features, all customizable

Splice all the wires you want Doommonkey777.

For those that don't want cut wires this unit allows one touch top opening and closing plus:

Opening/Closing of the top with your remote as you approach the car
Opening/closing while the car is moving with a safety cutoff preventing operation above a set speed
Opening/closing the windows with the remote
Allows window operation for 60 seconds after the car is turned off
And some other minor features, all customizable

I was an Electrician/Instrument Tech by trade and would pay $175 for the convenience of plug-and-play. By the time you buy connectors (expensive in small lots), relays, timers, &c. you'll have close to that much invested in it.

I took a quick look at the instructions on the mod4cars site and it looks like in addition to plugging in the module, you have to run a power wire up to the front and maybe ground an additional wire. Does that sound right?

gr8-wrx you are correct. the wire runs around the passenger side of the car (I tucked mine under the kick plate along the door) and taps a wire up in the foot well. It's hard to remember now but I think it took me 20-30 minutes when I originally installed it.
