I love that interior, those....Bently-ish.

The actually production model is almost always tamed WAY down compared to what we see in the concept. I'm sure it won't have that many body lines. This will most likely be my next car..I set my current Q60S lease up with the manager so it will end around the time the new Q60 is out. :tup:

The article says the new Q60 to debut in fall of this year, if so does that mean a new Z could follow shortly?

If history shall indeed repeat itself, I would imagine a Z35 would be MY2017 after the Q60's MY2016 debut.

Infiniti's introduction of the "Q60" is no different than Nissan introducing the "new" 370z. The "new" Z has just as few new features over the old, as the Q60 has over the G37. Infiniti decided to change the badge for some reason :ugh2:

No need to get defensive, just pointing out your car is just a rebadged g37...also since when is having a different engine and different chassis from the old Z considered just "a few new features"?

The "new" 370z and the "old" 370z (like I had) have the same chassis and engine. I was talking about the "redesign" on the 370z...Nissan added a new front bumper, wheels, led DRLs, etc. It was basically no redesigned at all :tiphat:

Ok gotcha, when you said new I thought you were talking about the 350 compared to the 370

good news for the next gen Z if this 3.0L twin turbo for the Q60 coupe is true.

It has a bloated bullfrog look. Was hoping they'd go for a more "lithe" design.

I would say so, if they follow like the G37 & 370z, then the G37 (Q60) will get the engine first followed a year later by the Z.
Plus it all looks right, the engine is by Mercedes, there is also a 4 cylidner turbo by Mercedes that Nissan may use which will give the Z a 2 engine option (like some executives have said). Plus this will help keep the Z alive with majority buying the 4 banger probably at 25-30k and the V6TT being 35-45k.

Those have been my exact thoughts since the release of the new C class.

I think its safe to assume that this will be the base of the next Z.

My sources are saying that the turbo six is NOT Mercedes-sourced, btw. We shall see what happens.

Yup. They said in-house. But. Im sure it will be a cope of the benz engine. Like hyundais 2.0 is a cheap copy of a mitsubishi engine

I'm willing to bet my Z that Q60's engine will be identical to the future Z's engine. 400Z will be the new Z. Too easy.

The real question is if there will be a next Z. The people from Nissan have made statements that make the next Z sound iffy if it'll get made. Also with their comments and no info or intent if there is a next Z it could be a ways off.

400z.... Why? Cuz of 400HP? What about the other engine? I think the rumor of it being called solely Z is most likely.

Yes, 400Z because of 400HP. Car manufactures will not advertise lower engine displacement numbers because it'll give consumer the idea of 'lower number means cheap, higher number means better'.

I will be bold and speculate here - Given the next Boxster/Cayman are moving to 4cyl engines......I think there is a chance the next Z might just be 4cyl only. Motor tech has come a long way and it would be no surprise to see that as a possibility.

As well do I. The Z is not a volume seller to justify an independent engine. They use the sales from the G (now Q) platform to support it. Unless they do something radical and make a sporty juke type crossover that pairs with the Z, the Z/Q will always be sister platforms.

My finger on my iphone after tries clocked 4.83 to 60. And right around 12 to 100 if he reached it. So....meh.
