nothing wrong with ur VQ. in fact, im old skool and a skyline sedan of our age is not a skyline without the VQ.

another reason why i like my skyline coupe so much (G35C). its got that unique VQ nissan-ness.

400hp red sport first drive

Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 First Drive Road & Track

When I hear reviews saying. It's no BMW, I just have to dismiss them. Especially when the BMW is behind both Cadillac and AMG in performance.

I know the infiniti lacks and DAS was the worst idea for the Q50/60 variant. They should started that with the big car. Perfected it, then moved it into the sport entry.

But it seemed like the infiniti engine is a true winner but the author rather have spent more time talking about infiniti's identity crisis over giving REAL IMPRESSIONS on the engine.

I agree the Q series is not the most exciting looking car since other cars have introduced but... I would like some more objectivity from a performance aspect.

Dude, real talk about that. I was so pissed when the dude is like "it's no BMW." **** off with that ****. The dude sounded like he just didn't want to drive the car and that he's leased a 3-series all of his life. I get that you like what you like, but that review was garbage.

I would like to see the BMW fanboys answer me when I ask them what BMW has for $48k that would roast the Q50 RS.

Truthfully, even some of the purest BMW dudes are saying that the current M3/4 are among the softest performance cars BMW has released. I mentioned it in another thread, but a Cadillac ATS-V wins for me over an M3. The Mercedes AMG C63 would as well.

Autoblog did the best job reviewing the car. I'll dig up the review and post it - the guy that drove it gave thorough feedback. He wasn't swinging from the nuts of the car, but he wasn't stuck in his last BMW review either.

This is why I plan to grab a Nismo 370 with cash when the time is right. I gotta buy a house first. I plan to have it in my "forever" collection.

However, if I could swing an R34 when the time is right, then SO BE IT. :driving:

Funny you say that... I've been pondering a 2016 Nismo but... that would be my third Z34 and with the potential Z35 coming. I don't want to spend too much on swapping cars. It's bad enough the corvette GS and camaro ZL1 have me hard and horny! I wouldn't mind having the current N/a nismo and a next gen turbo nismo.

I'm just so confused.... that's why I haven't made a move. These types of decisions are so emotional.

Then there's a used F-Type R that just screams, buy me buy me. Lots of good choices. Different philosophies of driving to enjoy.

Yeah, I'm sick of the BMW worshippers. I've driven a few now and they are perfect "regular" cars. Great but not special. The comparo to them are just annoying. They've been surpassed in performance by a slew of cars. They are just well done regular cars that are unreliable modes of transportation.

2017 Infiniti Q60 Release Date, Price and Specs - Roadshow

RicerX 03-23-2016 08:59 AM

I saw no pricing in that link?

UNKNOWN_370 04-11-2016 02:43 PM

Infiniti's 400 hp Q50 Red Sport 400 priced from $48,885

So you have to buy a red car to get 400hp.

They're saying $48,885
I'm guessing the Q60 gonna be about $54,000

I'm guessing a 400hp Z would have an entry price of about $40,000?

I posted the pricing link in another thread the other day.

Q50 red sport 400 is 49k for the RWD and 51K for the AWD.

obviously rounded up to even up the numbers.

Ouch, $40K base Turbo z35? I was hoping $35. Some decent options and $50k is awfully close. Which puts "on the fence" buyers, well on the fence. Not to ruffle feathers but yet the main reason I traded my Z for a 3.8. Whole lot more for quite a bit less. Yes it's lacking a couple ticks in speed but I've never noticed it DD it. And with Genesis going solo, along with Ford and Chevy $40k options this Z35 better be spectacular. I'm not dismissing it, I love Z's, they've pulled many rabbits out their hat. I'm hopeful.

Seriously? I can't even believe you'd speculate that??? We know the Z will have at least 2 engines n 3 power levels.... What math you been doing? The 2016 camaro with 335hp is priced at $32,000 for a 2lt manual. What made you think you were gonna get a top tier Nissan engine for $35k? Better stay buy-in Hyundai's bruh.

Oh... n not to ruffle your feathers, but quit making comparisons from the Genesis to the Z. If you're gonna make an appropriate comparo. Make it with the Q60 coupe or G37.

The Gen will NEVER HANDLE or have the driving dynamics of ANY 2 SEAT sports car let alone the Z. With a 16 hp deficit an automatic Z demolishes auto Gen's. They only compare acceleration in manual transmission.
Steering feel, seating position, seat contouring for serious driving, Rev limiter bouncing, DRM/SRM, AKEBONO, Rays wheels, ALUMINUM suspension and many other internals are far more superior to the gen, that's why they practically give u a nav for free. They know what they lack. Even the brembos on the Gen need more than just pads n RB600.

You forget unlike everyone else here I know the gencoupe inside out. Nobody here cares to give it respect. I do... I like the gen a lot...but...
It's NO 370Z. Not even a little bit. If you think they're close in performance it's cuz you've never pushed both of them.

The Z needs Koni yellow swifts n an alignment n ur good.

Gen needs the high end stance or ark suspension set up just to compete with a Z.

Keep it real mah man

Maybe you're right. I hope you are. 18 months ago I said the EXACT same thing and got laughed at but until there is something solid from Japan in the pipeline it's what we have NOW. But for STARTING at 40 large with "just" 400hp...the competition already is ahead unless it's LOADED at base and light. Very light. 3100 max. Otherwise it's ALREADY behind.

The Z IS a better sports car. I knew that going into it. I never advocated otherwise. But as a DD having both, when money is on the line, I prefer the Genesis. As a DD I beg you to find a flaw against the the 370. IMO, it's a MUCH better DD. There is literally nothing a Z does better as a DD than a 3.8. Again, IMHO, the 3.8 is better in the overwhelming majority of DD activities for 90% of performance for 10k less. Now going to the track...
