I drove a new 2012 before I drove my 2010 Nismo, I went home with the Nismo. There is no comparison if you want a drivers car and if you add a couple of twin snails you can run with anyone...straights or twisteez!
But what happens when the Mustang adds mods too? For half the cost of your FI?

Here is the deal...there is no way the Z, boosted are not is going to run with a pony car that is boost or of equivalent power from a standing start...the Z is not made that way, but from a roll I can run with the best of them and have left plenty of them wanting. There is always someone faster, but I'm with brother Clifford anytime I go to a dealership, including Nissan everyone comes out stares at my girl regardless of the Vetts, GTR's or Mustangs on the lot. The best compliment I ever got while at a dealership (Nissan) was when I got an alignment after dropping Nismo on coil overs! They had the car on the lift as high as it would go and all the techs and suits were under it admiring the turbo and exhaust setup and a gentleman in the waiting lounge ask another customer about how long he had been waiting and he said "Everything was moving quickly until that sports car showed up...I hope they get back to work soon!" I just smiled and nodded.

I am a Mustang fan, but I love the older models...to each their own. Love the one your are with and those you want to be with.

Not sure your definition of "modern", but I drove a 2010 Mustang GT (brother's car) and it did not corner like my Z. Maybe they've improved since then.

I drive Mustangs on a regular basis at the Ford dealership I work at since I'm an apprentice. The fit and finish on the Mustangs are not the best. The build materials are cheap in my opinion and that's not to say the Z doesn't have any. It feels like you're driving a tank when you're in a Mustang as well. The 5.0's are great motors which produce horsepower power and torque. The 2015's got a boost in power as well.

As for the V6 Mustangs, they are blah in most category's.

The new I4 Mustang is something that catches my eye. It puts out over three hundred horsepower and three hundred foot pounds of torque.

50% of the reason I bought my NISMO is because of how beautiful it looks.

IMO one of the top 5 best looking cars of all time is the 1967 GT350 Mustang. If I had lots of $$ I'd do a full resto-mod with coil-overs and a blown Coyote 5.0.

There is no replacement for displacement no matter what anyone says, but 370z > Mustang.

Bought one on Saturday since the 370z will no longer be my daily driver as its going through a hardcore HP transformation. The GT's turbo project will start after I get further along with the Z. I dont want both the cars too far apart from running at the same time.

Those of you who think this car is ugly, or has a crappy interior... youre either nuts or you havent seen/driven the 2015. I got the black leather recaros and they are one of if not thee nicest car seats I have ever sat in. The interior is every bit as nice as my 370z, and the electronics and connectivity package in the mustang blows my Z out of the water.. theres no comparison there. But hey, its 6 years newer also. Its also got these awesome like 15" 6 piston brembos in the front that are pretty nice. I could ramble for a good hour about the features this car has that my Z does not. But I am just being defensive about my new car here. I love my Z every bit as much, and the things it doesnt have, it doesnt need... and it does other things as well or better without.

No matter all the things my Mustang has.. A 2015 Mustang GT is NO replacement for a 370z. No way, no how. You simply must have both. I have no idea how i could possibly live without either of them now.

My springs will be here hopefully tomorrow so this thing can come in for landing.

So, do you want Kate Upton, or Peg Bundy who can run a 4.2 40?

Everyone wants to compare imports to muscle cars because back in the 90's i4 and v6 imports were faster than domestic v8's. Those "Fast and Furious" days are over though.
No they aren't. I beat them quite often at the strip. Drivers race bro

I like the new body style too. I wonder how this new stang will launch with the new differential setup at the drag strip. I haven't seen one there yet.

Beautiful car in its own right Phunk.. I think most of us here are biased and have a lust torwards Japanese and European styling. I'll be the first to admit the late model Stangs and Camaros have more potential in every aspect (except styling jmo). Domestic muscle is no longer that, they are now performance/sports cars and damn good.

I can't comment on launching yet... 22 degrees out and wheel-hop city. Probably put 20,000 miles worth if wear on my axles and differential/mounts in the last 500 miles trying to drive the car hard with summer tires in cold weather. I actually just put it away for a little bit because I'm getting frustrated not being able to drive it all out right now.
