A few years ago my friend had a G35, had a few mods, dressed up real nice. At the time I had just got my 09 370z. We both started auto-x around this time on occasion for fun. He got the idea he wanted to get a S2K since it was lighter. He had the car a total of 4 weeks before selling it for a M3. His biggest complaint was that the car had no torque. Yeah, he enjoyed the weight of the car on the track but for daily driving it just wasn't strong enough. I drove the car once and agreed with him. Compared to my 370z it was no comparison. Having driven a 350z HR I'd say go for one of those instead if you can't get a 370z. I'm sure you can find a good condition 07-08 350z with low miles.

It's a great car, but very different from the Z. High revving, more similar to a MX-5 or FR-S in feel.
Also, only in soft top unless you find one with an aftermarket HT. Like all Hondas, reliable, fun, well designed, and a wee bit pricey... You might be able to find a 350Z for about the same money, which is (theoretically) closer to the 370Z. I think, figure out your budget and test drive a few cars to see what best suits you. |
The sales guy at the dealership keeps calling me. he wants to sell me a Used 2010 40th edition 370z 1 owner with 33k miles on it for $22k
BUT With my crappy credit i'll be paying 11%apr interest. I told him the only way i'd buy it is if its $22k out the door with less than $400 per month on the payments. |

Yeah I told the dude I wanna just save $ and take care of the things hurting my credit. He says it wont raise the score much and after 1yr I can re-finance and get a lower apr.

Sounds like you really want the S2000 so go ahead and pull the trigger man and have a blast.
|
Go get a 2000 S2K. I hear those are so cool, they don't have a clock in them.

I've driven s2k for many years (shared my brothers s2k). Ever since I got the Z, s2k became really slow. That being said, the 2 cars are different breed. S2k has an amazing feel to it. You can hit those corners with ease while maintaining the line and control. It's very forgiving.
On the flip side, Z can punish you. It doesn't take kindly to mistakes. However, it's fast. Faster than the s2k. Although it lacks the low center gravity feeling, like the s2k, it still gets the job done. It can pull 1+ G on skid pad unlike S2k which barely manage to hit .9 And don't judge based on a single video you posted. You have no clue what mod/drivers mod the racers have. Bottom line, Z is faster than the s2k...track or straight. It all depends on the feeling, style, and $$. |
Why are people so harsh on the S2000 for being "slow"? It's got a good amount of power stock, nothing amazing but plenty to have alot of fun with. And the car responds very well to mods. And turbo'ing it im sure is alot cheaper/easier than turbo'ing a Z car. The S is very impressive for only having a 2.0lt motor and still being able to stay neck and neck with a 3.5lt 350z.

Comparing track-modified cars to production models is nothing more than mental masturbation. You seem to have already made up your mind so bite the bullet, get an S2K, and start having fun. :driving: |
I am very tempted to let this salesman rape me with the 11%apr if hes able to get my payments to $350/month.
The 40th edition 370z they have is beautiful. And only 33k miles the car is basically new. They are asking $23.9k ill tell them I will do it for $22k out the door with $350/month or its a no go. I know they are desperate to sell the thing, its been sitting on their lot for a long time. |

if your interest rate is so high, do you not have anyone that can co-sign with you? parents, sister, brother, cousin, etc. |
