no more 15 nismo tech, looking at M235I
ok guys, i was soo close on the deal with the 15 nismo tech but the dealer jumped the price from 42500 to 44600 and my monthly was around 500 with 15k cash down payment, excellent credit score. so no more nismo tech.
looking at a 2014 bmw M235i RWD, 8 speed auto, fully loaded, navi, etc 3.0L twin power turbo, 320hp, 330lB torque, (car and driver review = 0-60 4.3 seconds) 8k miles on the car, for 41k. still under warranty, bumper to bumper, 4 year , 50k mile what do you guys think on this M235i ?? http://images.cars.com/supersized/DM.../21767A/01.jpg http://images.cars.com/supersized/DM.../21767A/07.jpg http://images.cars.com/supersized/DM.../21767A/09.jpg http://images.cars.com/supersized/DM.../21767A/20.jpg http://images.cars.com/supersized/DM.../21767A/18.jpg http://images.cars.com/supersized/DM.../21767A/21.jpg |
Not my cup of tea, would have to be an M3 at the least. I hate dealers and it sounds like some bull crap
|
Put no money down on a base sport. Take the 15k invest it in twin turbos. Profit.
|
Does not matter what we think. Drive it then decide. Sorry about the Nismo deal being dropped.

what do you guys think of the 15 STI ??

In red it's nice but I can't justify buying a 4 cylinder for 30k plus

I would never dump $15k in a car that I don't own, but that's just me, I'm not a heavy mod guy anyway, I do the basics, but I'd buy a faster car before I blow $15k on turbos.

http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20141...subaru-wrx-sti The M235 has been great and very fun to drive. No issues at all. The car gets accolades here in Europe and in the UK a magazine rated it better than the M4 in terms of capability vs price. Shocking to see but the car is great. Chris Harris has a nice review online of the M235i as well. Good luck there are no real bad choices. Its all about what works for you. |

This is a forum anybody is entitled to their opinion positive or negative. The OP just need to filter it down. But of course most of us carry flame throwers but in the end we still luv ya! No physical harm done. |
Well my opinion even in the alphabet the M always come before the Z. Lol
|
The M235i is a nice looking car but I would pick up a 435i or M3/4 instead.
I absolutely love the 2015 STI and I test drove one the first week they came out. Grey-Limited, no nav, no push button start. The reason I didn't order one is because theres so much negativity surrounding "ring land failures" on stock motors! Until they replace that engine with something more stout and with better gas mileage I won't consider one. The EVO has a much stronger engine and aftermarket to go with it, but its ugly, interior is horrible, and looks aren't aggressive enough for me. G37 IPL you'd be wasting your money on a vehicle slower than what you have now. |
OP if your going to go with a BMW I would atleast go for an M3...
|
^ possibly its a toss coin between a C6 and a e46 M3 my next buy.
|
You can get a used 2012/2013 Z06 with low miles for $48-52k asking price.
Theres a ton of used 435i's on cars.com in the low $40k's |
435i is nice. Larger and with less powerful motor. M235i far more sporting. I considered the 435i for just a short time.
|
guys i found a new 2014 white 370z touring sports package, fully loaded, navi, MANUAL for 39k.

First off, if you're getting a used Bimmer, make sure it has a warranty. Can get expensive if you don't. That being said:
1. For what the STi costs, you will be very disappointed with the fit/finish/interior quality. 2. The M235i is at a decent price and looks cool. If you want the best of both worlds (i.e. practicality and sportiness), get a 435i xDrive and add a JuiceBox. Done. |

evil, I drove a 6 m/t one pretty hard on several types of roads and I really liked it. It was a BMW employee's one on a lease and he told me, "don't hold back", so I didn't
As I have a 13Z which I really like as well, not ready to pay extra and switch yet. But in 2 years I will seriously look at the new M2 coming out next year as a 4 seater may be in the cards for me. Quick thought, why not a new brand new 6mt sport Z? Will probably be over $10K less than what the dealer was trying to snake you on the Nismo deal? |
Oops, missed the whole page 2 before posting. The sport touring for $38k sounds excellent! Good Luck
|
The 2 is sooo little looking reminds me of a baby booty or a thumb. Can't imagine a dude squeezing into it. Is it a 1? No 2? No 4, 5, 6, 7? Nothing wow about it to me...but with 300 plus hp in a lil thumb it is probably a blast to drive. Get what makes you happy!

The IPL has been good to me, it's nice to sit in and nice to drive. Looks good from most angles. Not nearly as sporty as a 370Z, nor as fast as either the Z or the M235i. I call it the "GT car for dudes like me who can't afford a real GT car." Pretty sure you can get a fairly low mile example under $30K these days, which is cool. Worth a look, if only as a benchmark. A very aggressive and fun Sports coupe

The M235i - there is not much out there like it at all. Its a drivers car and well received all around. Anyone thinking about it should go test it. Worth your time....
|
I have heard that once you get past the warranty period, BMW no longer stands for Bavarian Motor Works, it stands for "Broke My Wallet". Lease it!
|
It cute.
