If you like it buy. Who cares what others think. For me its a nice car. Its a Vette with all that comes with it - mainly quality issues and the fact that its not an exotic name plate.
Few Vette's maintain any real value over time. This is a car you buy enjoy and sell quickly. Its a Vette and nothing else. Frankly its always better to buy a Vette used. I still cant get into the Camaro-ized rear end. Way to cheap looking. The heritage of the Vette's appearance has been lost. Sad. Keep thinking it will 'transform' itself and contact NASA lol! Id take the GTR/R8 or something else over this. As far as track cars go its not the best out there and when you get into this price range spending just a little more opens some intriguing doors. Id take used GT3 or GT3RS for the track any day over this. Smaller powerful and a challenge to drive. Great support for them as well. |

Been there done that - very much over it. Size these days is simply a waste. Given the materials science advances and smaller light weight powerplants etc. Big is well...more of a statement than any type of advantage.

I don't understand that conception. If anything, the paint quality on the GT-R alone would turn me off. A car that costs $110k shouldn't have worse orange peel than a $15k Ford Fiesta.

Ive yet to see many production machines here or in the US if im visiting that dont have peel. The worst paint on any car Ive owned was on my 370. My GTi put that to shame in terms of depth and peel. Loved my Z but the paint was a battle from day 1. I think the GTi was made on 'good' paint day. Ive seen other that were total crap of course. |

My GTi was solid. So far the M235i is great. We take it on the road for the next 3-4 days into Switzerland down to Lake Geneva. This car does things right. I very much like it. Test one if you have not done so. Thanks for asking. So far so good! |

There are plenty options that are not Corvette if you have $80k to spend. Not *everyone* needs to have the fastest .01% of the cars out on the public roads.
I'm one of those that have fallen off the bandwagon for chasing power. I'd turn that $80k (if we're limiting the discussion just to cars) into a DD and a smaller sporty car that I can have fun with on the public roads and not *have* to egregiously break the law just to experience 50% of what it is. Even still, some of the options up above still make sense. Does that mean someone is calling the C7 ugly? Or a bad value? Or awful? Nope. In fact, I absolutely love what the C7 is and it's really the first Corvette that I actively *like* the styling of. But that doesn't mean I'd ever think about getting one for myself. But I'd never begrudge anyone else is that's their preference. Just not what I need nor how I'd spend that money. |

Z06 does sound like it'd be a lot of fun. I'm going to go **** with the Chevy dealer next week to see what the new 'vettes look like inside and see if it's something I want to entertain in the future.
