I wouldn't mind a revamped Eclipse if they would just fire the entire engineering staff that designed it, redesign it from scratch, and not even allow any of the decendants of the original designers, builders, and market anylysts to take part!

the 2nd Gen was GOOD!.. and I even made the 3g look good, and fast...lol
but the third and fourth gens were pretty bad

Mitszu is washed up.. their sinking fast.. they need to bring some life back to their line. Bringing back the 3000gt to go up against the GTR would be a good start. Also bringing back the conquest RWD turbo would be sweet, but I think they are happy sinking in the fun department and are going straight EV.. and weeee all know what happens to EV car companies

check out these JDM "purist" versions.... stripped down rocking hubcaps no A/C and unpainted body parts
Toyota GT-86 and Subaru BRZ purist-spec versions released (JDM)

If they offered this model in the U.S. (most likely won't be offered here) I would get this version as long as it was like $4K below the base model. Love the idea of stripped down. They should have taken it even further and gotten rid of the back seat.

i don't understand why manufacturers don't at least make this an "option" for ordering? what's it gonna hurt if someone actually wants to buy one but hates the idea of stripping all the stock stuff out and switch the fascias?

Because it doesn't really save them much, and it adds to manufacturing overhead
