I had a 2001 prelude but for me, going from 332 to 200 is not something I want to experience again. The 370z is a nice dd. I think by the time a turbo comes out the z, cayman, vette, tt will be out or coming out, not that these cars are competitors.

I would be all over a turbo Subaru version.

hahaha. yah i know exactly wat you mean. but, im not selling my 370Z so it's not an issue for me. i just want something cheap, pretty quick, and good looking when im done with my G. i need 4 seats (got 2 kids) but dont want 4 doors unless it's a boxy hatch. if i dont get this i will look probably at the 135i's. |

I didn't say anything about going fast in that post, i meant potential like cheap to mode and have supurb handling, and the ability to get up an move.

I'm really liking the specs. 2700 lbs, RWD, good mpg, and one of the lowest center of gravity cars. Pretty much all it comes down to for me to buy it is how much it will cost and magazine/forum reviews. That and if my Z will ever sell.

I don't know guys, I had high expectations for this car, and it seems to be late to the game for what they are bringing. Compare it to the Genesis coupe, which has more hp, a turbo, and is cheaper. Granted this car is lighter, 2700 vs 3300, but with an oem turbo (read easy to upgrade) and a v6 option, the Genesis justs appears on paper to be a better car, and it is already in the market, with tons of aftermarket support. I just think this subyota is late to the game, and doesn't bring anything that makes it stand out. Now if they Sti it, different story.
Just my thoughts, but I will still go drive one to see how it drives |

I'm counting on an Sti'd version. If they can put the 305hp torquey boxer in there I will be all over this car. It'd be hella fun.

Really, they are different sorts of cars and not really meant to be compared (though they obviously are and will be)

.....if it stays within $20-25K. Yup, I don't believe this car was ever intended to be a high horsepower car. Are there any other cheap (< $25,000), lightweight (< 3000 lbs), RWD cars out there besides the Miata?

I don't think you can say they are meant to be different, 4 seats, rear drive, front engine, fun, handling, sports coupe. They look almost the exact same, have similar hp, and similar prices. I think they are in direct competition.

Ya, the 2.0T would be a direct competitor. Assuming the FR-S is sub 25K and handles amazingly, I'd rather have the FR-S over the 2.0T. The lighter, better hp:weight ratio, better looking, Scion/Toyota reliability car outweights the longer warranty and factory turbo for me. I think this car is going to sell very well and Nissan will be forced to come out with a new generation Silvia.

Everyone said the Genesis 2.0t was going to sell like hot cakes: RWD, light weight (comparativly) RWD, turbo. Yet it really hasn't taken off like everyone though. I believe the FR-S will be the same. I mean at 20-25k for a base version you are looking at close to 30k for a optioned up model. For that type of money you can buy much better and faster cars. I know this car is supposed to be about handling but thats about the only thing it has going for it. The miata sells a lot because it's cheap and sporty looking, doesn't mean that it's acutally fast. When it comes to most car enthusaists, people want a car that is fast and corners well. For the price range they are talking I would look more at the Genesis V6, Mustang V6, WRX, etc. Time will tell what this car actually becomes and how well it does.
