I'm still not convinced. While it looks like that blue MR2 tried to recreate the Carrera hood lines, you can still see the obvious horizontal line go all the way across the hood from headlight to headlight in addition to the line from the back of the headlight to the windshield on top of the front fender hump. You just don't see anything like that on the Carrera GT or the red car in the OP. Like I said, if it is indeed an MR2 it was some serious body work to alter those lines.

100% it's an MR2

Well, damn. I stand corrected. Obviously much easier to tell from that angle. Carrera GT is what, twice that long? :icon17:

wow, from the front it is very deceptive, but it's blatantly obvious its not a GT from the side. nice find!

Closest - pretty sure it's a non-US spec Mitsubishi GTO. It's a tad longer than the FTO and very closely resembles the USDM 3000GT.

The other is definitely an MR2 made to look like a Porsche.

This MR2 one looks pretty spot on, including the headlights (side is similar but not exact), but I still don't think the one in OP is an MR2. The key difference I can see is the hood line. Notice that with even the highly modified MR2, the hood line still runs straight across the hood and along the inside of the head lights. However, in the Carrera this space is just storage, so the "hood" doesn't extend all the way to the headlights and is a different size and shape.

There's no way that tiny thing is a carrera. It's too short and the bodies lines look too weak.

How could u tell if this car has a body kit if it's a 3000GT or GTO? I can see that better if you were looking at stock vehicles. But both are heavily modded and the GTO is 98% identical to a 3000gt?

That picture was of an MR2; I never said it was a Carrera. I just giving an additional example of the difference in the hood lines between a modified MR2 and the car in the OP.

Pretty sure it has been determined that the OP was a modified MR2. I am still impressed at how the hood and fender lines were made to look like a Carrera (trunk lid) and do not look like the hood lines on all the other modified MR2s I have seen.

i actually saw a blue MR2 (i am pretty sure it's the same model) in toronto in the summer... it was pretty sweet
