Honda Civic Type-R to finally be brought to the US

horribly translated article, but an article none the less:

Honda Civic Type-R finally will arrives at US coasts

DavidZ370 11-03-2014 12:21 AM

Mehh. I stay clear from Hondas in general.

nkryptd1 11-03-2014 01:47 AM

Looks clean, hopefully they don't de-tune it for the US Market.

kenchan 11-03-2014 11:47 AM

Finally, Honda is starting to show some kinda baby balls after years of pussyin' it up

/Angelo350Z/ 11-04-2014 01:00 AM

This would've been good news to me 15 years ago. Now, I just don't care about FWD cars, not even Type-Rs. They're still great cars and I would love to see them on the road though--just not in my garage.

Firebase99 11-04-2014 08:15 AM

Fugging wonderful. More fan boy Fast and Furious dbags living their life a 1/4 mile at a time.

kenchan 11-04-2014 10:58 AM

honda's FWD doesnt bother me, that super tuner type shape does... :ugh: i just cant see myself driving it.

Waiz 11-04-2014 02:01 PM

I will believe it when I see it

Otherwise that is a badass car!

<- Is a V-tec fanboi

I think the production version will be dumbed down in appearance. I think Honda is giving an example of possible modified or a comeback to "Honda Racing" parts.

I would drive it as a grocery getter.

When you hate on Honda you hate yourself. From Robots, to cars from boat motors to lawn mowers and so much more. I could never hate on a company that is so well rounded and did not need any bail out money.

:iagree:

I just chalk it up to ignorance or lack of experience. Anyone that has been in the import scene for a long time will know that Hondas are very capable and super reliable cars

Z-Girl 12 11-04-2014 08:42 PM

If i were 15yrs younger.. and it will sk be detuned.

scorp38 11-07-2014 09:47 PM

Fastest car I ever owned was a honda, gonna get **** for that one . Now at least there is a viable option for people now. The si is not really cutting it. My brother worked at a Honda dealership and i drove them often, they are grossly under powered compared to Mazda 3 speeds and equivalent options.

zero 11-07-2014 11:00 PM

I'll take this Honda.

it's ok... my son loves it... but he's 18... which, of course, is the age group the car is targeting

Car needs to be AWD at this point. Not sure why Honda hasn't brought back AWD civic like the old days.

Your telling me with today's technology and knowledge Honda cannot make a fuel efficient awd car? Have you seen the mercedez cla amg with 24/31 mpg and that is with 355hp? I know Honda can do better with slightly less power.

Nope can't be done  well I mean unless you count Hondas/Acuras SH awd which has been around since like 2004 lol. So there you go Honda awd

That will probably happen for sure.

theDreamer 11-10-2014 08:43 AM

Wow....so I guess my guess of 2% probability this would happen is coming true.
Will still wait until it actually arrives to believe it. Also, Honda could bring back the AWD and maintain fuel economy with the Type-R. The GT-R is not AWD all the time so Honda could easily do a FWD 80% and when in specific scenarios it moves to AWD to help balance the car.

Yeah, it all comes down to when the car goes into full AWD mode, and I imagine for a lower (cheaper) end car it will not be as refined or well tuned as upper end cars. Plus most setups I see that are AWD are mostly RWD and activate AWD for performance and not FWD/AWD.

The Other Side of Honda

Niche79 11-19-2014 12:35 AM

very cool, finally. Ya know, I do need a 4 door family car in the next year or two....rofl. Might as well make it fun and unusual. I own 2 Hondas right now along with my Z and you cant kill them. They are older Hondas so still 100% Japanese made but with regular maintenance, they just wont stop!
