Default Check out the Barrett Jackson Bugatti getting wheels and tires at Vivid Racing!!!!!!!

We all know what the Bugatti Veyron is. In fact, its stops people in anything they are doing because seeing one is so rare. Having had 2 in the Vivid Racing Garage is impressive. Whats even more impressive is taking this 250+mph car and upgrading the wheels and tires on it so they look that much more awesome. The styling of the quad turbo 1000hp car is different, to say the least, if you are use to seeing supercars like the Ferrari, Lamborghini, or your moms Ford Taurus when you were 15. But when you are Craig Jackson, owner of the most recognized auction house of cars, Barrett Jackson, you need to step up your Bugatti game. So this silver and black beauty came to Vivid Racing to get some new shoes. Now I have seen the comments of why would you change them or how could you trust another wheel rated to 250mph, but lets be honest, the tire is the important part. As long as the wheel is 1 piece forged, load rated, and true, it will do its job. So for this project we turned to the guys at Cor Wheels.

The Cor Forged Venom Duo-Block Wheels are 1 piece forged aluminum that are finished in a titanium brushed look. The front wheel is a massive 20x11 and the rear is a 21x13. In comparison, our SRT Viper runs a 20x10 and 21x13 and our Porsche 991 Turbo runs a 21x9 and 21x12. The Veyron needs to have some seriously rated meat on those wheels so we went with PIRELLI® 1906000 - P ZERO (285/30ZR20) in the front and PIRELLI® 1997400 - P ZERO (355/25ZR21) for the rears. This was a quick in and out for Mr Jackson so we got some photos and video of the car here. Enjoy them, cause its rare to see a Veyron in the Vivid Racing house!

Wheels look great on the car! I take it those tires aren't capable of reaching the speeds that a Veyron can reach? I know this isn't the first time aftermarket wheels have been put on a Veyron, but I'm just curious. The OEM tires are some kind of special Michellin tire that can handle those 250+mph speeds.

Now that I think of it, I wonder what kind of tires those cars that run 200+mph in the standing 1/2 mile and mile events use.

Yeahhhhhh... Not sure why anyone with a Bugatti would change wheels... I know I wouldn't. I assume Ze Germans did their homework

Im pretty sure VAG makes you sign a contract agreeing to their set maintenance schedule including only having work done by them and only using OEM parts, including wheels and tires (the tires are replaced every 2500 miles and the wheels every 10000 miles). Im betting you just voided the warranty on a $2.5m car. But it looks nice...

"Let's just take the tires, for example: in the U.S., the Michelin Pilot Sport 2s fashioned with the Veyron's unique compound cost about $30,000. Bugatti recommends you change them every 2,500 miles, and at every ten thousand miles the company recommends changing the wheels and tires, which runs north of $50,000.

In between those wheel changes will be things like routine maintenance, with a major annual service setting you back about $20,000."

Wow. That car is an engineering marvel. Interesting info about the wheels. I see why that car is only for the crazy rich. The dude(ette) might not even care about a warranty.

Aesthetically, what the hell were the designers thinking. The rear quarter panel looks nice, but the rest... blah!

Maybe it's just me...

At top speed the tires only last something like 15 minutes then are tossed. As mentioned, the wheels must be replaced every two tire changes. Plus I think you have to get a factory technician to change the tires. Neither Mr Tire or a tuner shop is certified to change the tires.

200mph for about 2 seconds is a lot different than a tire that can do 250mph for minutes at a time lol. Plus, this car is more for publicity, and not taking to a closed track for timed top speed runs. It sits most of the time.. Hence him going for the look, and not the super stupid pricetag on the stock tires they recommend.

LOL! its actually a piece of foam that we wrap the top and bottom of wheels and tires during shipping... It also doubles as a soft place to kneel down for our tech.

He just needs to buy another version of the Veyron. Since there are about 15 billion versions, there are also 15 billion different sets of OE rims. Some look much better than the base Veyron rims.

While I can totally agree with swapping out the crazy expensive set of OE wheels and tires, to prevent damage and overuse, it seems like sacrilege to me.

yeah, but then you are stuck spending probably 10's of thousands of dollars on a different set of wheels that are still... factory. I think his total order was about 12K. I can assure you that that build quality of these wheels are just as meticulous as Bugatti's. Is not like they have figured out a new way to invent the wheel.. Wow.. finally that saying can actually be taken literally
