I wouldn't laugh too hard that car is light and with a 2.0 turbo may surprise you..

theDreamer 09-30-2014 08:48 AM

I'm laughing hard, U.S would never get this car plus it's a civic! :inoutroflpuke:

People have short term memories or are too young too remember what it was like to race against modified civics and integras in the 90's. If this car is a resurgence of that era? This car will be very respectable. That said, respectable hatches don't come to the US anymore... Ford, AN AMERICAN CORPORATION even took 2 decades to give us the European focus. Lol.

Zoren 370 09-30-2014 03:09 PM

The hatch just don't appeal much to the American market.
Then again I quite lost my confidence with Honda in this generation.

i didnt know, too late anyway for me, but long time ago they shipped a handful of R32's in MT to the US. always wanted that hatch but DSG-only offering killed it for me.

Indeed. Coming from Europe we got all the goodies ... inc the hot hatches.

I had a Integra Type R with a K24a2 swap...dyno at 248. Very nice fast and light car....but no 370z....People complain about road noise in a 370? The Type R had no sound deadening.

Cell 09-30-2014 06:14 PM

At this rate, honda needs to make the CIvic AWD to handle the power. They used to make awd civics

I remember. My 1.6L 99 SI stock everything but a t3/t4 11psi 285hp turbo kit I built is still the fastest car I've owned, and I've owned some fast stuff.

Time to run a T4 turbo at 11psi on your z.

synolimit 10-01-2014 04:07 AM

Nnaaaa, not my thing anymore. If I want a turbo I'll buy back my 11wrx at 335hp 396tq running 11's on stock everything.

I loved my Integra Type-R, number 313 in 1998. Almost no sound deadning but that was ok. Not a terribly fast car, but it really hugged the road. Engine was hand polished and ported at the factory and the body was seam welded too. Those things, if they are not molested, are becoming quite collectible now. Sadly, many of them did get molested. They had too many years to he hacked on by now.

I had 00-141 only reason for my swap was one of the owners blew the c5... But damn if you are gonna swap K24a2 is awesome with the LSD 6 speed dc5 trans...I didn't see your 313 in the type r registry??

DCNISMO 10-01-2014 09:45 AM

I sold it in 1999 to help buy my first house. Sigh...what a special car indeed

A 278 bhp Civic hot hatch = another nail in the FR-S's coffin...

The latest iteration of FF's don't lag behind FR's, so Toyota needs to get serious with their hardtop MX-5.

Nope as this civic won't make it here. But that frs sucks so bad on power. I really wanted one then test drove it and wasn't impressed at all by handling power or room. At 6'3" I barely fit in that thing......luckily I went with the 2014 370z...never looked back.

If they don't get 80hp via FI in the FRS ASAP?
The FR-S will be an EPIC FAIL by the next model year!!!
Without a turbo FR-S will stand for...
FORCED REDUCTION-SUCKS!

aszyd 10-02-2014 02:35 PM

Front good, back bad. We'll never see it over here.

As for FA'd cars, I did own a '04 Cobra for a very short period of time. Intake, exhaust, no cats, and a canned tune. No idea what it put down. The gas mileage killed me because I was driving it over 100 mi per day.

Z370Z011 10-02-2014 02:59 PM

I think it looks pretty good.
I just hate that if it does make it here all the honda kids will think they own a Ferrari. It's bad enough the FR-S guys think they have a fast car... I could only imagine how the honda crowd will be, racing anything they can.

I have owned 4 Hondas and still own 2 currently along with my Z. However my 2 Hondas are from a time Honda still had some fun little cars on the road, the 2000s fell on their face so fast and still do today. If I could talk in their ear, I would say guys, bring 1000 of these to the USA and see how they sell. Number it like the ITR's back in the day and don't flood the market. Build the demand that way so you don't flood it and let them sit on the lot. Honda feels if the car doesn't sell 100k units, they are fails. But in my eyes, get the younger buyers in the showroom now and keep them later when they need 4 door cars. I bought my Z as no other company made fun sporty looking or feeling cars and I love the fact I did that. The Z doesn't sell loads but Nissan still makes it! I used to hate Hyundai but in the last 5 years they have stepped up so much, guess who was at Hyundai last week jumping in a Hyundai Genesis '15 sedan for a possible future 4 door. And they are just amazing. Acura on the other hand has fallen so fast like their Honda line, utter bleh. In short, Honda needs to bring this car to America to start reviving its brand to younger buyers. They are their future after all!

it might be wild on the styling, but it's cool to see companies bringing out something wild..

I own a turbo veloster. Unless you want to deal with the worst suspension setup ever, I would go with the turbo civic.
