In my earlier post I mentioned the model year 2016 Vette which would actual be it's 3rd model year. Just read about too many issues with this car at this time. I'm sure GM will get most of it sorted out but it will take them more than 1 year to do so.

A GM with major problems right off the assembly line???

The devil, you say!

There was also a radiator hose failure during one of the first magazine tests -- can't recall which one.

Oh no, the sky is falling! Common quote over in the Corvette forum when people freak out over something small. Ok, so the recall has to do with the airbags and the parking brake cable.... not that big of a deal if you ask me... thought I read it only affected 2800 vehicles?

And about C&D engine failure... not confirmed but it may have been a fault within the oil filter itself that caused pieces of metal to basically grenade the engine. I spend more time in that forum than I do here, and I can tell you that engine failures are pretty rare. I think out of 31k C7's sold, there was like .04% engine failure rate so far, all of which were taken care by warranty. Not trying to defend Chevy, but I think some people are overreacting.

*Ok, I guess I may be trying to defend Chevy because I am think about getting a C7 next year!

I think the current leadership at Chevy is trying to gain a flagship image so they are being proactive about the recall. Their estimates for lawsuits seem a little on the low side however.

with what he said.
After the ignition switch debacle, they are getting extremely gun shy. One little thing goes wrong and they want to make sure they fix it before media shoves it in their face. Not a bad thing for consumers.

My daughters car is recalled, but they don't have parts to fix it yet. GM is going to be fixing ignition switches for years.

I would love to have been sitting in on the meeting to stop shipment of vettes.

With 60% of Stingrays ordered with automatics and the new in-house built 8-speed auto going in 2015 models I expect to hear of plenty of issues with 2015 models as well.
