Backstory: Ferrari Hates Deadmau5's Nyan Cat Car, Sends Cease And Desist

TL;DR: Deadmau5 (musician) had a Ferrari wrapped in Nyan Cat for the Gumball 3000 and decided to keep it that way. Ferrari sent him a Cease and Desist to remove the wrap and badge replacements.

Wow. Never heard of something like before. I wonder if you sign some kind of contract stating you won't make any modifications to the emblems or something. I can't think of any reason Ferrari would be able to tell someone what they can do with a car that is outright owned by someone.

Considering Ferrari selects who is allowed to buy their higher end cars, it wouldn't be a surprise if they have a signed disclosure on new purchases relating to the debranding of their name and logos. If no such document exists, I would have purchased a second Ferrari for the sole purpose of replicating the original car.
