More info and Review of the Eau Rouge

I think I might become employed as Nissan's "Great Carnac" I seem to smell all their moves before they throw out info. Lol.

So it turns out that, YES, the Infiniti Eau Rouge does have the GT-R engine, but with some hopefully minor correctable drawbacks on this "prototype" version. If priced correctly and if the suspension gets a more aggressive tune to offset some extra weight in the front end. This may end up being the best "bang for buck" mid-size luxo-sport sedan out there? If tweaked more?

I'm also going to guess this will not be marketed here in the USA as the rouge??? They will offer a second color (most likely a shade of black or grey) and it will be marketed as the IPL.

It lacks the GTR transmission, believe the prototype is using the beefed up 7AT we have in the Z.
Will probably be a Qxx IPL, Eau Rouge is probably just its prototype name to get attention. They have a tough task with this car, 4 door saloon car which is meant to be a GTR, yet is Infiniti so needs luxury, comfort, and 'sophistication' to go up against the other luxury brands.

Let's just hope they give the next model Nismo the same treatment as the IPL. Although I think the price point will be closer to GT-R money. Reports last year when the rumor dropped that the IPL would get the GT-R engine they had the price set at $70k-$80k.

I could see them shooting for that price point, especially if this launches at the time of the new GT-R (which will be bumped up with better engine/hybrid tech) allowing this to slot it below it for Infiniti.
Probably do a similar approach to the GTR where it starts at 70-75k and every few years it bumps up 5k topping out around 90-100k.

Yup, that's correct. The 7at needed beefing up anyway as it did not have a high enough threshold for a transmission in a potentially modifiable sports car. It should have come out the barn rated @ 500hp, not 400hp.

im not totally convinced this will happen. If it does this car will come in priced at or over the 100K of the current GTR just watch.

I can see it being priced at 70-80k. I remember when the GTR first came out and I was reading that the transmission alone was worth around 30k... If it is using a cheaper transmission then it could be cheaper.
