Garage Squad features a #89 240Z restoration

If you can find it, catch this episode on Velocity "Disheveled Datsun". New show featuring a resto on a 1970 240Z #89 I had to watch it. Restoration was not to OEM. What I like the most is his wife's full support and understanding of JDM, she was the one who called the squad. Really interesting.

Some other interesting find:
They used to inserted toilet paper to filter out the oil. Strange.
They went for their interpretation of the 432 R - it was far from the JDM 432 but still looked good. Not for the purist.
The guy seemed like he had a full service garage without the lift.
Nice mods to make it handle and run better.

The guy restored old jdm motorcycles thats why no lift.
enjoyed this episode but in the final drive away shot there is a big dent in door, they could have at least pulled it out LOL

and wtf on the toilet paper, hope to see more jdm on these shows

That is a horrible show. I dont think I rolled my eyes so much in a period of time.

Also why did they make it seem like they were in such a rush? what rush? Maybe they wanted to get in and out before everyone found out how lame they were?

I shall call him Mr. Carbon Fiber.

As for the rush, they probably only had 1 week to complete the episode and I very much doubt that they spent 12 hour days working on the vehicle.

The show would probably be better if the episodes were an hour long. That way they could spend a little more time focusing on the different areas of the car that are being worked on. Rather than just "hey look, we bought some parts and while you were looking at the pretty girl, our mechanics bolted it all on the car."
