Porsche thinks so as well since they left their PDK transmission on the shelf for that one lol

The GTS may be a better buy with a 125 shot of NOS?

In the way of power seating and overdoing the comforts and conveniences.

I agree, sports cars can and should be relatively simple. I'm more of a Grand Touring kind of guy I guess, because every time I get a car that's stripped down and simple I'm like "WHERE IS MY ******* AWESOME RADIO AND WHY ARE THESE SEATS NOT LEATHER?" |

i will admit i love my touring seats and wouldn't have any others but i see unknown's points here.
i feel its a matter of taste and opinion. i personally like touring seats and nav. wouldnt get a car without nav pretty much if i have a choice. but everyone is different. as for the 125 shot of NOS welllllll i'll never say no to more POWAHHHHHHHHHH

But you are right about the base seats/cloth NISMO seats, they are really great. I like more power but I don't like NOS, too "my car is fast, but only for 10 seconds at a time." It's not like it recharges every time you bump an opponent like in the video games. NOS seems like more of a drag racing thing. IMO it doesn't go with a sports car. YMMV. Im not gonna think that 25lb's worth of stuff added to my corvette is going to ruin the car. Sure, stripping 300lb' would make a big diff but 25lb nothing. If i cared that much, id lose 20lb's by working out and then run with only exact amount of gas I need per session and remove all carpeting, plastics etc. Heck adding a go pro adds just as much weigh as my built in PDR, but I get all the data work. I bet unknown, for all hes talking about a sports car shouldnt have all that, would not strip his car of carpet, matts, underhood plastics, underhood shroud etc on the street and he wouldnt even bother with it at the track. So discussing a few lb's worth of awesome luxuries is kinda moot. I do love my competition seats, with seat warmers and cooler. The heads up display is frikin awesome. The PDR is damn good and really helped me understand where I can improve. Im not gonna pretend that im even close to being good enough to where the weight will matter for the way I drive the car on the track. And even if i get to that point, suspension tuning, wheels, etc will help more initially than weight. It makes zero difference when off the track, and so unless Unknown is a badass race car driver and tracks the car at least 50% of its life, the whole arguement of weight and less is more, does not really pertain to us. |

Wow, the H8? You could't express your opinion without throwing me in your condescending ways... Why I don't pay extra for touring pkg in the Z and in most 2 seat sports cars... 1) I fit really well in most of the narrow base seats in these types of cars. 2) The trunks in these cars are too tiny for long road trips so I exclude NAV. 3) I would add HUD and other Performance tech to a car 4) Power seats with A FIREWALL against my back is useless, especially considering that FOR ME, the positioning in base sports seats fits my body well. 5) I gutted my trunk to put a JL Audio W6 sub and my sound system is custom, No need for the touring wacky doo sound system. 6) NOS, notice in my statement, I added NOS with a question mark as it is subjective opinion and suggestion... As far as me being racer? What's it to you if I am or I'm not? You live in my world? You pay my medical bills if I get in an accident or killed? you pay my insurance? My status in how I drive is not up for your debate. And not once did I make it a weight discussion in this thread... Lastly, I NEVER mentioned weight as the factor in my decision, but fat cars don't feel agile, so when buying a car, I like the lighter ones with the best power to weight ratio. Again, my subjective opinion. oh, and my 240 and rx7 was stripped, no not my Z.

It's not like you'd be buying any of these car to start with if a "true" sports car was the end goal. The Z looks like a tank next to an S2000, which is a pig next to an Atom. |

1) I fit really well in most of the narrow base seats in these types of cars.
A) Not all cars will be built with you mind. having seat adjustments is nice. Especially when the bolsters are adjustable in something like a competition seat, which happens to have power and heating and cooling. 2) The trunks in these cars are too tiny for long road trips so I exclude NAV. A) you dont need to pack so much for long road trips. Ski trip? thats diff. Zdayz stuff easily fits in the trunk of most cars. 3) I would add HUD and other Performance tech to a car A) dude the HUD is awesome feature. 4) Power seats with A FIREWALL against my back is useless, especially considering that FOR ME, the positioning in base sports seats fits my body well. A) Why does a firewall against your back batter for power seats? It would still be there for non power seats. If the company that made the car, has a huge difference in the way the seats are positioned, they did it wrong. Comp seats have power, heating, air and sit as low as the base seats. Remember this discussion isnt just about your current car, but cars in general 5) I gutted my trunk to put a JL Audio W6 sub and my sound system is cutom, No need for the touring wacky doo sound system. A) once again, in your car yes, but the 11 speaker audio system works great in mine. 6) NOS, notice in my statement, I added NOS with a question mark as it is subjective opinion and suggestion... A) I didnt really touch upon NOS, how you wanna mod is your choice. Didnt mean to be condesencing towards you directly. Just more a general statement that tons of people always throw around about car is a pig blah blah, weight blah blah, speed blah blah when 99% of these people dont track, push, etc. I track mine when I can but even i know im a sucky driver compared to most i see out on the track. P.S. the c7 definitely feels EXTREMELY Agile.. you really gotta try one. Quote:
