China's Qihoo Hacks A Tesla Model S

I saw that yesterday and started trying to do some research into Tesla's silent partner. Could find anything conclusive, but there are some names out there, big and small, that if found out would make a nice little stock investment. Could you imagine if this Bluestar thing actually took off?

i could see myself owning a electric car in the next 10-15yrs.

i always preferred electric RC cars over my nitro RC cars.... so why not? clean and fast. :p
but i must first overcome accepting AT..

They won't release (Qihoo) how they did it still, so Tesla is wondering if it was a direct connect or only via the app (iphone/android) which has limited controls.
I would buy a 35k Tesla, honestly tempted in getting the Model S right now but no real need so no point.

My only concerns with an electric are the environmental cost of manufacturing/disposing/recycling the batteries and the monetary cost when they need to be replaced. Since I seldom keep a car long enough to change tires, the latter is not a big concern.

And the fact that if a lot of people go to electric cars the power grid will collapse. :)

Batteries still have a very long way to go until a car is truly "green," but it is nice to think one is helping.
Also, the grid thing is going to become less of an issue. There was an article in Houston talking to our main power supplier CEO. They are seeing a reduction in home usage, not because people are conserving more but because people are installing solar panels at a increasing rate. Not enough to get off the grid but enough to power most daily operations.

Yes it is still expensive, but when it costs 10-20k for a full install, parts, etc. and that is before any credits it is now a viable option for homeowners.
