I bet those things were still smoking when they finally got parked for the night

Haboob 07-07-2014 10:31 AM

They sound amazing.

And my buddy got the  from his wife to get one when they are on the market. :icon17:

Want in black with blower sticking out of hood.

THAT is a muscle car. It makes no pretense to being anything other than a wild, rapacious beast that eats tarmac and boy-racer's hearts for breakfast.

Apparently a Charger Hellcat is in the works too. 4-doors for those of y'all that need'em. ;)

Wahh... too many ducats for a mere peon such as I, but I soooooooo want as second car.

Oh... the eardrum piercing noise, the brutal violence of the engine, the murderous fraying of rubber on road...

EDIT: WTF did I babble here...? Am I writing a poem?

I have a mighty need for this but eh RWD so no go. but seroiusly that power is insane. can't imagine how much power could be unlocked with a proper tune. the charger hellcat would be interesting too. if it was AWD but seeing as the normal SRT isn't yeah. also no go.

I wonder how they handle in the twisties? Wait, 707hp? Who cares about twisties, just point and shoot. That's a bad mofo there:driving:

If AWD is a key concern, I think go for the Subaru or, if you can find it at a good deal, perhaps the Evo-X. Or, I suppose, a G37X (or whatever they're calling it now).

Other than those three, I think everything else consistent with your power and drivetrain preferences gets a bit pricey... as in, if you choose to pass on all three, a GT-R would be the next entry level car in keeping with these aims.

That's 6 figures... so, I say, look into a WRX, EVO, or G37X.

Audi has a few options, but still...

Hellcat looks tasty

Meh, it's still a freighter on wheels... Z06 anyone?

Haboob 07-08-2014 10:46 AM

A C6? Sure. C7, nope. Would rather have a Hellcat.

Ardent_Z 07-11-2014 10:55 AM

..and it just ran the quarter in 10.8

The 707 HP Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Is A 10-Second Car

Quote:

That's on street legal drag radials, according to this new video from Chrysler. Equipped thusly the Hellcat did the quarter mile in 10.86 seconds at 126 mph. The number has been NHRA certified.

Similarly, with its production tires, the Hellcat runs the quarter in 11.2 seconds at 125 mph, also certified. That's also fantastic.

brancky3 07-11-2014 10:59 AM

I would call that an 11 second car, but 10 seconds modified.
