I'm just afraid there might be an over-saturation issue like what's going on at Chevy with their LS motor. I swear I can get an Aveo with the LS3 option...

I think the GTR platform needs to be for a GTR just to keep it unique. Next thing we know grandpa hauling his grand kids around is going to shoot for Nurburgring times on his way back from Publix with his launch control button.

At an estimated $100k (or more) and "production runs numbering in the mere hundreds", I don't think the Infinitis will saturate anything. But,yeah, I think Nissan would be better off keeping the GT-R exclusive.

But one can spend over $75k on a Camaro Z/28 nowadays (I paid < $8k for a brand new Camaro Berlinetta back in 1979), so maybe $100k isn't a big obstacle any more.

i know i dont want to be spending $100K on a glorified Q50S...

I wish. There are not enough accessible GM vehicles with the LSX engines unless you like trucks, camaro's, trucks, camaro's or 5+ year old pontiacs.

I wish the 370z had a more exclusive motor as well, but there's a VQ37VHR variant around every corner where I live

Well the VQ37VHR does hold a record for top ten best and most top tens of any production engine! Not bad. A bit more power each year would have been nice though.

Yeah, I get why it's stuffed into almost every Infiniti model, but it makes a car feel a little more 'special' when it's not utilizing a parts bin motor.

I think Nissan and the other 2 big Japanese companies (Honda and Toyota) are very "stingy" with their super-car motors for good reason. Domestics will shoehorn any of their hi-performance, big block, tree stump pulling V8s in any of their cars. This "whoring out" makes their cars "common"...because after 5 years, you can buy a Zr-1 for like, maybe $50,000 or a Z06 for $35,000, a Ford this, Dodge Hemi that, for $18,000 all with 450+ hp. And this is what makes domestic cars kinda rednecky. They chop up the cars, pull the motors out, put them in primered ,rust bucket trucks... But Japanese cars are trying to catch up to the aura of European prestige e.g. Lexus LFA $400,000+ car that you can only lease. But the consumers still see Japanese cars as tier-2.

It's a marketing ploy, but I digress.

strut bar needed not for suspension handling improvement, but to handle V8 torque.

I honestly have to ask, why would you pay $75k for a Camaro Z28 when the new stingray Vette is cheaper???
