maybe it's just me, but some cars just look better in sedan form vs coupe... like benz coupes. they look frikken weird.

How are you liking the M235i? I test drove one when I was looking to trade my 328i and absolutely loved it.

A guy with a gold one parked next to me and I chatted with him awhile while checking it out. It's just a badass car. I will be test driving an automatic this weekend, but I would wait until the 2015 model in manual if I were to get one. I also checked out a Stingray and a Camaro ZL1, but I like the toned-down look of a Benz. Not sure what to do with my Z... |

What's up with that RC-F steering wheel? Looks like it belongs on the S.S. Minnow.
So you guys really don't mind that road-feel disconnect of full on electronic steering? IMHO... Steering feedback is so HUGE in the driving experience. I really appreciate the fact that, Infiniti is the Only company that made full on electronic steering for the Non sport Q50. And the Sport Q50 still has the hydraulic unit. Steering & Suspension feedback rule my world. Though the Z is numb at 8degrees R/L TDC at low speed... There's plenty of feedback during performance maneuvers and at high speed. It's the main reason why I'm so anxious for the next gen Z and GT-R. Nissan seems to understand that performance needs to be increased without deleting the senses of the vehicle in motion. GTR, thankfully brandishes a draully. All the new sports cars took a hit on numb to no steering feel for a smidge more accuracy. The only car thus far truly benefitting performance-wise from a full-on electronic steering is the C7. Yet I notice all reviews don't touch the subject on the C7 at all, so my statement may be inaccurate. The truth will come out in reviews, the second or third model year like with the toyobaru twins. I just know the mustang steering feel is the worst of any sports car and is an instant deal breaker. (elec-steer) From the M235 to the Z, you guys don't find elec steer a dull drive experience?

I drove a manual and automatic M4 this weekend. Compared to the Z, yes they are extremely dull cars in regard to their drive experience, but I am buying a "sports coupe" (i.e. a sedan) not another sports car.

Driving around in a fast car with no kind of feedback or sportiness in the steering and/or suspension combined is pretty much a car.... That goes fast.... Is precise... But without the soul of a sports car. It's just a precise, fast passenger car. Like electric sports cars. No exhaust sound. No soul period! It's like going to an music concert but you can't hear. The band's playing. Music is good and loud. But you can't hear it = Electric car. Just my opiniom though and a thank you for your answer and honest opinion.

we have 3000 miles on our M4 now, and there is nothing dull about driving this car. its amazingly fast , not quite as fast as my boosted Z, but its friggin quick. very minimal body roll and the brakes are ones i can only dream for on my Z (i hope to make that dream true soon) Fit and finish is great, the technology, apps are nice features. it rides nice at normal pace and gets decent gas mileage. my wife tends to drive around in M mode all the time, and that makes for a jerky first gear the way we have it set up. its a head turner, wife has literally been chased into department stores to be told how cool her car is, that has happen to a z owner "said no one ever". and thats happen multiple times.
that being said, if I had to choose today to drive my highly modded Z vs a new M4, I would pick my Z. if my Z was stock, there is no comparison the M4 is better in every fasciate.

1. When the Z came out in 08. People thought it was an exotic.
2. You stressed FAST. I'm talking about the soul of a vehicle. FEEDBACK 3. We're not making a case against BMW, so no need to get defensive over opinions. 4. Congratulations to you and your wife on the M4.

Actually these are great comments as right now I am struggling to decide what to do with my Z in the near future. When I characterize the M4 as being dull I am saying that in relation to the feel of the Z, which to me feels like you are riding in a hovercraft after driving a sedan (sports coupe, M4 included).
Granted it was a test drive and I would probably get to love the M4 when the sales dude isn't sitting there right next to me. The options I am looking at are: 1 - Keep the Z and get it tuned 2 - Keep the Z (and boost it) and get a supercharged 4Runner 3 - Keep the Z (and boost it) and get a BMW 335i/435i XDrive (and get it tuned) 4 - Sell the Z and get a BMW M4 5 - Sell the Z and get a Lexus RC F 6 - Sell the Z and get a Corvette Stringray 7 - Sell the Z and get a Camaro ZL1 8 - Sell the Z and get a Subaru WRX STI |
