BMW 2009 Z4 35i 0 to 100mph in 9 seconds
 

A few years ago I debated getting another Nissan, specifically a 370Z. I owned a 350Z before and I was in the market for another car after I sold my
E46 M3. After much thought into what I wanted my from this next car, I choose a BMW 135i. Unfortunately, I only had that car about 2 years before it was wrecked. I loved the N54 engine so much that I decided that my next car would be a 2009 Z4 35i. I love the looks of both the 370z and the E89 Z4. IMO they are two of the best looking cars on the road. However, I couldn't get past the torque that is offered in the twin turbo N54. Anyways, here you go.

Too funny. I posted this vid in other non BMW forums and only received good feedback. The only message board that I get comments like these are on the 370Z board. Not surprised.

Elan, this is my car and not a random video.

I didn't post it as a comparison. I thought that the 370Z community might be interested in seeing a video of another car other than a 370Z. Most CAR people are not just interested in only one car or brand.

Is this on a sanctioned, closed course? Because as much as I got tight in my nether regions watching this I'd hate for you to be showing excessive speed on a public roadway where small children and puppy dogs can be playing stickball.

Then maybe show us a car and not just a speedometer.

The Z4 is too elegant for for my taste for now. Maybe a few more years of grey hair for me. But if i get bald ill get the corvette! 😊

I probably have a pic somewhere but it is nothing special. It looks like any other stock N54. I am currently running the stock intake.

How fast is a stock Z 0-100?

Around 11.5 seconds.

Nice. How much hp is the z4 running?

I have not dyno'd it yet but it is probably somewhere between 430 and 450 at the wheels with about the same torque.

We own a 335I with the N55 and currently are running the JB4 to try and keep the warranty on the car in the mean time. After a bit here we will be doing a cobb tune and Alpina setup.

You played with the trans tuning yet?

I love my wife's 2010, its all stock though.

Sounds nice thats impressive. I really like the BMW Z3 M Coupe in its earlier years (up to about 2009 i think). Z4 is a very uniqie look also.

This is on the very short list of Bimmers I would actually aspire own -- an forgive my general ignorance on BMW models, but is this NOT a Z4, but a different model entirely, or same chassis but a lot more power?

If I may ask, what is the ball park on it including mods?

This is an E89 Z4 which is the current model, 2009 until present. A soft top is not offered any more on the Z4 so all E89 models are hardtop convertibles. My Z4 has the N54 engine which is a twin turbo inline 6. Same engine as the 335i, 135i, 535i etc. I have about 5k in mods and I purchased it in the low 30's about a year and half ago with 35k miles.

Nice *** car. I always loved the Z4's. I liked when they had the hatch but now the update like yours is even cleaner.

I have a soft spot for the Z4. Great looking rides but I don't think I will fit in one though :icon17:
