what causes battery drain in a full system

what causes battery drain in a full system when the car is parked and not turned on?

Sounds like his amp might not be turning off. Check the REM (wake up wire) going to it. If there is 12 volts while the car is off than it's wired wrong.

That's what I told him but didn't have a meter with me today

Check the power supply side of the amp. Is it warm? Power light on? Mr Big is right. Same goes true for other signal processing components in the chain.

So we checked everything with a meter and everything seems wired correctly. We think last time he showed someone his stereo he left the car in accessory mode. We will monitor for now. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!

Does the Accessory mode not switch off after a while? I recently walked out of an "event" and waited in my Z while my wife endured the event until the bitter end. I was listening to my radio in Acc mode and was shocked that it switched off after 20-30 minutes. I figured that was by design, but I had never had another car that did that. Of course, I might have accidentally bumped something while sitting there.

Good luck figuring it out.
