what causes battery drain in a full system
what causes battery drain in a full system when the car is parked and not turned on?
buddy just had a full system installed in his car, it is a garage queen but he has never had a battery problem to this week. battery went from full charged to dead in the week its been parked in the garage since install thoughts? |
Sounds like his amp might not be turning off. Check the REM (wake up wire) going to it. If there is 12 volts while the car is off than it's wired wrong.

That's what I told him but didn't have a meter with me today

Check the power supply side of the amp. Is it warm? Power light on? Mr Big is right. Same goes true for other signal processing components in the chain.

So we checked everything with a meter and everything seems wired correctly. We think last time he showed someone his stereo he left the car in accessory mode. We will monitor for now. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!
