New Honda S2000?
Just found this article, there may be a new Honda S2000 in the works, but it won't be anything like the previous S2000.
Honda S2000 to be reborn |
i wouldnt mind having a s2000 coupe.
|
i would mind having a corolla-s
|
I'll believe it when I see it. These rumors have been popping up ever since the S2000 went out of production. Having owned S2000s for 9 years, I don't know anyone willing to pay $59,000 (35,000 GBP) for one. Especially not when you can pick up one of the current ones for under $20K.
|
Yes, the price is ridiculously high. But who knows, maybe Honda won't even make it.
|
Hm. I'd be happy to add that to my future car wish list.
|
S2k, nsx, even that s500 pchop...
C'mon, honda, quit c0ckteasin and produce these things. |

Hondas are great cars and shopped around for an S2000 before the buying the Z. I still imagine what it would be like to own it when I see one on the road. In the end, Honda will need to decide where to position their next roadster and my hunch is it will be in the 25 - 30k range. They will get in the ring with the Miata knowing they can take some candy from them.

But yes, Honda has been blathering on about a new NSX since 2007 - although their anticipated 2015 production target seems a bit more 'real' now. At least they're hinting at half-way exciting concepts - Honda has been wandering in the dark for well over a decade. Maybe Toyota's reentry into the sports car realm has woken them up a little. |

Old news is still new to me :) Give him a break lol
I love the fact that Honda is talking to bring back the S2000. It was one of my dream cars back in highschool. The difference is that now I can afford it as a weekend car. Well, not at $59k. Under $40K sounds better. |
Another Honda Maybe, Might, We don't know? It's 10 years later and still hasn't happened story...
|
60k... I'd rather buy a used GTR or a new corvette.
|
yah, a MT vette would be nice..

Merged

I have white stains all over my 2015 corvette z06 pics. :leghump:

The comeback honda's... Still waiting?
|
$30-35k would be the sweet spot for the s2k. If they price is that high I'd rather get a used GTR or a fairly new Lotus.
GTR/Lotus would be the only cars I'd ever consider upgrading from the Z. I still need to buy a damn truck though since I can't haul anything around at the moment. The new c7 vettes are nice...but I LOVE the look of the c6 z06...if only it had a nicer interior. |
I saw this and am interested to see what comes to fruition (if anything).
|
I saw a FastLaneDaily video and they have a source that said it would be in the 30k range.
|
I own a s2000, its my DD, and I tell you, its definitely one of the best cars I've ever owned, its so much fun to drive. I hope they do in fact come out with something new at price not even close to $60K, I'd be seriously interested.
|
Lot of speculation. I found it humorous they actually printed 350HP and Civic in the same sentence. A Civic. FWD people mover. Aaah, no.
From a historical perspective I would like to see Honda keep a RWD platform like the S1000/1500/2000 alive but sales numbers are not going to make it profit car compared to their entire lineup. Had the S2000 still been in production not sure I would have ended up with our ZR. - b |
