Whoops. Quoted wrong Boob post :rofl2: |
Was it only if it broke something?
We launch controlled my buddies '09 (well he did, not me, I was just a passenger) a few times. Not sure if he ever had to take it in for warranty work, but they never denied him any other service or informed him that the warranty was voided for use of it. |
Was that the first year of the GTR? I thought it was 08. It depends on which revision of launch control it had. Once they reflashed it you could do it to your hearts content. It was the original LC map that was way too aggressive and would cause warranty issues if you broke something doing it.
I have a feeling that Ford won't be denying all warranty claims based on using the line lock. Probably just motor/tranny issues. |

the original 2 versions of the GTR tranny ECU controls would basically lock down the car if you tried to run launch control too many times and in too quick of sucession without the proper cool down period allowed. |
Yeah, they had to take a few swings at lauch control before it wouldn't grenade the tranny. They let buyers beta test that one. Now it seems like it's solid as long as you don't go too nuts.

some local guy had a 2009 right when they came out and blew the engine. nissan actually flew a few of the engine builders out to the US to evaluate it since it should have never happened. |
