Sad day. So long Z, it's been great.

Sold my Z today. Flat bed truck arrived and took her away. Less than 7000 kms and extremely well taken care of. Sad to see it out in the nasty elements but it's no longer mine. The new owner is going to get a super well cared ride that wasn't hacked or modded, only Borla cat back exhaust.
I have on order a new Torch Red C7. I always wanted a V8, my father should have never let me drive his vette. I guess I can now be that old guy driving a vette LOL. Love this site and learned a ton from doing oil changes to all of the Z's idiosyncrasies. I'll miss it but pop back in once in a while to shoot the breeze. So long gang.:driving: A few pics of her being taken away. Sad moment but a new door opens. |
That's tough. The new C7's have awesome performance. You'll love them. Best of luck!

Thanks, the C7 will be my first North American car since I think a Dodge Daytona back in the mid 1990's and I don't have fond memories of that LOL. |
Feel free to stay here and keep us posted with how the new Vette is and mods and such!

:shakes head: completely ruined. :ugh2: disclaimer: my posts are for entertainment only!! |
Cars will come and go, so don't feel too sad. Once you get in your new C7 and get to drive it you will fall in love all over again!!!!
|
I can't say I feel anyway but happy for you. The C7 is a great car.

:tiphat:Thanks, yeah I enjoy this site. Lots of knowledgeable folks and many interesting characters. Very little if any BS between members and most of the time very respectful. Can't see doing a lot of mods, I ordered the factory performance exhaust with it. Might think about headers, tune etc but nothing serious. Should have plenty of power. What I like is the torque profile, gobs of it down low. That's what I like for a street car. |

Good Luck with the NEW C7  |
:pics: of your new C7 when you get it!!!! congrats

Yeah, just my opinion on the modding.:tiphat: It's a personal thing only. If I was buying used I'd prefer a car that was as close to stock as possible. Nothing against mods, just not my preference when buying used. It's like a blank slate for the new owner. |
Congrats on the C7. It is a nice car. I'd make it louder, put nicer wheels, and get wider tires. GM needs to work on getting the bad rap off of Vette ownership. It is a geezer magnet. Don't mean to offend anyone - that is just the perception out there.

Good stuff. The new C7 is sick

Good choice on the C7. Thinking about a Z51 2LT. Local purchase for the C7? Trade or private sale?

I sold my Z back to the local dealer. The dealer in Toronto didn't really want to give me a solid price on the Z since it was site unseen and 2000 kms away. I can understand that. I would have had to take the chance and drive it to Toronto when the C7 arrives and hope for the best. Didn't want to take that chance. I got a very fair dollar value for the Z and I'm happy with it. I'll have about 85-90% of the cost ready to go when the C7 finally arrives. I'm in no hurry really and I'll likely get a 2015 anyway since the 2014 allocation is just about taken care of. The thing that helps my situation is my order doesn't contain any of the constraints like carbon fiber dash, CF roof etc. If I keep saving I might change to a 2015 Z06, I don't want to finance very much if any for a toy.:driving: |

congrats on the new ride. |

Anyway, congrats on the order! I have a feeling if I ever came to the decision to swap out my Z, it would be pretty tough to see it go - but you'll get over that pretty fast with the C7. As others have said, pictures are required once it shows up! |

Congrats on the vette! Epic machine in my opinion |
I'd take the C7 over my Z any day. GL

probably because its around a 20k+ difference. I'd take the C7 over a Z too if it was within the budget.

I sold my fully built/nitrous C6 Z06. The car never broke down on me. Excellent sports car. You have nothing to worry about. The aftermarket parts scene is awesome for corvettes. Lot's of reliable and affordable parts that deliver serious power. Your in good hands.

why no sports package? that's like a requirement for a Z enthusiast. (another generalization) |

Congrats on the upgrade!

Congrats on the C7. May be joining you in a few years as I am officially in the Geezer crowd :tiphat:

From one Vette convert to another, Congrats. There are things I miss about the Z, but I love my Vette. Enjoy!
