03 v4 accord coupe at

I'm planning on getting a 2010 pearl white base Z with sport and would like to sell my current accord for the down payment. Basically I'd like to know what I can realistically get for it here in Los Angeles from a private party because it has incredibly low mileage for an 03. It currently has 33k miles and is in pretty decent shape. KBB gives the private party value at around 9k, but I figured since the mileage is so low, I can get more for it private party. What do you guys think I can realistically get for this if I sell it within 3 months?

Thanks for the input.

You think you're going to get more than the KBB private party value? I hate to say, but that doesn't seem realistic. Have you checked autotrader for that similar vehicles are going for?

Yes sell it yourself. You will get way more for it vs a trade in. But expect to only get what KBB is saying. But please don't say v4. It is an inline 4 cylinder.

I don't live in CA but NY is equally as expensive. IMO it is extremely low miles but it's also an '03. You might be able to fetch more than $9k but I'd be a bit shocked to see too much more than that.

What kind of features does it have? Sunroof, Leather, etc? How is the condition of the interior and exterior? Any paint chips/scratches/dents?

Maybe in a good market I could see getting a little more, but not now.

This is very true. I only see it fetching more than 9K if it's fully loaded and in excellent condition and even then, I still don't think it would be by much.

There is always a sucker who doesn't know any better too.

Good luck with your sale, hope you get a good amount for it. Then get your Zzzzzz!

frost 08-30-2009 05:54 PM

Yeah, I hope it goes well. You walk a fine line trying to get the most for your vehicle without pricing yourself out of the market.

Are the ones going for 11-13 with extras you don't have? I'm not sure what a slight dent in the fender is, but that could definitely be cause for people to low-ball you.

Frost, some do and some don't, although I'd have to delve deeper in to be precise. I'm hoping to get 10 minimum if possible, but I'll be sure not to price myself out of the market. I'll keep researching to see what the same thing is getting in my area over the next few months until the 10 Z is released (hopefully earlier than November, but likely not).

Thanks to all for the input again and once I sell, I'll give an update, and shortly after that, post pics of my new sexy Z.

Will be waiting for the update. Good luck sir!

i suggest that if your not in to much of a hurry you list it on a site for about 1.5 over kbb. then over time, say every 2 weeks or so, lower the price by 300. this way you might get lucky with somebody that doesn't know any better or if somebody is actually watching your car as the price drops and you hit the price they are willing to pay.
