help! New Truck. No good forums!
So I love my Z. Period. Ive almost got it dialed in. lol
But... have 3 kids and a dog and a trailer (oh and a few wives along the way lol), so I always need a truck too. I just picked up a '12 Sequoia. Now being a Z guy I want to mod it up. So Where to start? ...Looking for suggestions here. I'm thinking possibly CAI, CBE, HFC's and perhaps suspension bits. The problem is that the SUV forums are all full of dealer maintaining soccer moms. I don't know much about modding full size pickups ( which the Sequoia basically is... with seating for 8) any suggestions?

Check out tacomaworld.com and tundratalk.net. Both good forums. I'm pretty sure most of the bolt-on mods for a tundra will fit on a sequoia.
What do you plan on using it for? I'm modding my Tacoma now and it's probably going to get as expensive as modding my old 370 ($10k+).

Mostly hauling the family on road trips and camping.
Sometimes I haul a boat (catamaran) I'm looking into a 25 foot camper to run around Colorado for hunting camping and fishing. That's why I got the full size Sequoia, (for towing)

I'd go with wheels/tires and a small suspension lift. Maybe drop in filter/cai and exhaust. Check out tundratalk.net and see what people are doing to their tundras. And post some pics!

1.New (TRD) shifter knob (the stock is beyond ugly and cheezy) 2.Drop ins 3.HFC (I'm concerned it void my power-train warranty though because its a flex fuel engine. Don't judge me too harshly I got a good used deal...) 4.Tires for sure 5.Its got air ride so I have to learn if I can mod suspension.

I love Sequoias, especially when they're are lifted. There is a black-on-black one near here that is a Platinum edition that is lifted, and I think they have the air ride suspension.

A 25ft trailer is gonna be a lot for that SUV. Look into some airbags forsure or be prepared to use a weight distribution hitch

7000 lb tow capacity should be enough and airbags and auto level and anti sway are standard. It's a pretty good hauler!(at least on paper) I can't supercharge it due to stupid flex fuel motor.

Didn't know auto level is standard you should be good! Depending on what your looking for though 25 feet might be on the heavy side. My 28ft toy hauler weighs around 10K empty and well over 11k without the sand toys. Congrats on the new purchase!

Whew! Heavy. I'll be looking for a 5k trailer. Maybe 25 ft is ambitious!!
Thanks for advice!!! My truck before last was a 7.3l diesel Excursion. I miss that beast but the're becoming rare (in good shape). I'm hoping ill like the more modern trim of this Toyota enough to justify the HUGE price tag.

As far as mods, I'd say look into some wheels n tires, Cbe, maybe a grill, and leveling kit

I'm considering full breather mods as long as I can get verification it will not affect my 100k warranty (stupid flex fuel)
Tires are a no brainer for snow driving.
