One of my friends has the V8 R8 and it is pretty sweet. It's his daily driver since he's an idiot and spent all of his money on it and can't afford anything else now, but it manages decently for that type of car. He bought it used and it hasn't had many problems that I am aware of, but I don't know how many miles are on it or were on it when he bought it. If it were me I'd buy the new Vette.

Right, because a test drive tells you about all the long term history on a vehicle. There is no reason someone should do research on the internet to find out what others have experienced? I'm sure a smart fellow like he seems to be, he can correlate multiple data points into the best decision. What I see is classic jealousy. Just my $.02

Not sure why folks are getting so bent out of shape about this thread. The gentleman wants our opinions about his finalists, not our thoughts on whether its cool to ask or not. Some of you guys have some really strict views on whats OK to post here and a really shitty way of expressing when you think an OP shouldn't post. Perhaps my expectations are too high when i think that adults should act civilized and mature. So the guy has money and he's asking our opinion. What the hell do you care? You dont like it? Go read something else you do like. But don't start some **** with someone you don't even know who hasn't disrespected you in any way because you have a hardon to start some trouble. Or maybe talk to AK, Trips or Frost to see if they're still accepting applications for super mods or the junior forum patrol. Then maybe you can ban anyone that posts something you disagree with. Or maybe they'll add asking opinions about expensive things to the list of forum no-nos. Till then give people a freaking break and let them ask their questions without being ********. Sorry if I've offended anyone, it was certainly not my intention. Mods, please feel free to delete my post as well as all the ones giving the OP a hard time without reason. Thanks!

Hi. I'm in the same boat. I already have a GT-R. I will keep it. For my next vehicle, I am want another convertible. The only one I have now is my 370Z vert. My choices are Lamborghini Gallardo, R8 convertible, 911 Turbo S, F-Type (least powered of the bunch.) with that sort of purchase I would advise test driving your choices as others have mentioned. Do your homework. My cousin has a 911 turbo convertible and we traded cars for a day. I love the looks of it but I have to say, I wasn't fond of how the seats felt. That's just my opinion and it will affect my decision when I'm ready to buy. I live in the Midwest and there's not too many high end dealers....no Lambo. Sure we have Audi, but no R8 available to test drive. When I bought the GT-R, I just happened to get a call from my dealer saying they had one in black and I should test drive. I know you said you weren't interested in the GT-R. I didn't like them bc of their looks at first. After my test drive, that changed everything. The GT-R is truly a bang for your buck. 2014 has 545hp stock...0-60 in 2.7 secs. If performance is what you're after, I would say reconsider. It's within your price range. Dealer wanted $110k and manager sold it to me for $93k out the door. For me, I want an exotic convertible so I pretty much know what my choices will come down to.

The Vette is a nice choice but it's still a Chevy. Nothing wrong with that but IMHO, I've always liked imports. Vette is the least expensive of your choices. I think my choice (from your list) would have to be R8 (V10) or the Lambo. Vettes are everywhere. But find a way to test drive if you can. Out of curiosity, will you have to pay any sort of sales tax? I paid 7% plus cost of plates for my GT-R. Easy way to burn extra 10k. Good luck with your purchase!

If you are keeping the GT-R to be your "fast" car, the F-Type looks just amazing and would be a nice cruiser.

Why not pick up a phone, dial a random number, and ask he/she who answers what they would recommend?
A better solution would be to go to forums that are specific to that vehicle to do your "research"
By no means am I saying the OP or anyone else is not welcome here (who am I to say) I merely feel that myself, as well as others, being adults of what I consider to be reasonable intelligence, have the wherewithall to make decisions without the help of others, in particular strangers.
Take a look at 95% of these type of threads...Most are started with "which one should I get, I can afford them all and can't decide", and nowhere in the original post do you see "In terms of long range dependability, and cost of ownership", or anything remotely close.
And lastly I would like to say that anyone who posts threads in this manner should have a fire extinguisher nearby, because its Flame on.
As far as whether or not I am jealous for speaking my mind, I am starting a Poll thread so everyone else can vote on it, and decide
for me if I should be or not.

This^^^^^ and as far as jealousy I can drive and do drive pretty much what I want. But I don't come on here to ask about what I should drive, in fact you can research cars on forums with out ever asking "what should I get". Everyone has different terms and requirements they need to meet.

I can not nor will I ever tell someone what they should get. I can tell them about my experiences with what I actually own but there are a lot of people on here talking about cars they don't own, have never driven in many cases but seem to be experts.

If i where to ever start a thread like this I would start it like this

If you had 150k to spend on a car, which car would you get, and have you driven it.

1) this may bring a car to light that you where not considering but will now
2) people will not be so hung up on the fact you have this money and are asking the opinions of people who most likely dont, and do not have the means to drive such cars.

I dont have 150k to spend on a car so I wont be starting one of these threads any time soon, but most of us read/watch every car review out there and all have opinions that could help.

Good luck on your search, I think I would wait for the c7 zo6 to come out. having driven a ZR1, if the c6 to c7 difference equates to the same with the zr1 to z06 , then the new z06 is going to be one bad *** mutha!!!
