|
This thing is def quirky, but it looks really good at the same time. Pretty interesting.
|

|

I don't like the new proportions compared to the classic. |
looks pretty bad *** to me...i would definitely be insterested in something like the iDX nismo provided it has the right underpinnings
|
I really like this IDx. A light, 150 hp, RWD coupe that looks a lot more masculine than the FR-S? I'm down.
|
it's still a concept.. so who knows what the production version would look like.. but I am digging it... I would really like to see this go into production...
|
I will have one. The nismo version is rumored to have a 1.6l turbo engine
|
A little less extreme for the production but overall the car is looking very solid. And I agree, if the Nismo comes with a 1.6 turbo setup then it will dominated the market, they just need to get it into production ASAP!

If this is the FRS competitor they are talking about then they need to bring this to market as close to this as possible. Get the right engines and trans and keep the weight down, this could be a hit.
|
Not sure how the styling is going to play with the FRS/BRZ crowd. Maybe huge with 80's retro fans, maybe not so well with the average consumer? I don't know.
Neat concept, though. RWD, peppy I-4... Would like to see one in production. |
Love it. So many ways to customize.
|
I will most probably get one when and if it come out
Bad *** retro/future styling |
|
I actualy kinda like it.
I'd take that over a tC, for example. |
Any official confirmation yet on whether a next-gen Z will be debuted Friday?
|
i thought camaro and mustang and charger (maybe not chrysler) were all done with the retro-thing? :ugh:

How awesome would this be as a DD? Something about it makes me want to do silly powerslides. A badass rally version would be killer.
|
Two new platforms, new Nismo cars, and a new Z. Nissan is on a roll.

But for all the trotting out of the iffy idx concept, I've not even seen a cloaked silhouette of the next gen Z yet... tomorrow, huh? :icon14: |
Am i missing anything here? Personally i think they made a big mistake..
The targeted "audience" for the BRZ/FRS is the younger generation, like people in their early twenties.. most people that age care less about performance or power to weight ratio as long as the car looks good and sporty. This however probably wont grab their interest as much as the FRS/BRZ.. at least not majority of them. Not saying IDX's design is bad but would you rather drive a FRS to school or an IDX? the concept and design is pretty unique, i have to give them that |

Wow I dident expect people to have as a positive reaction to this car as I initially did! I really like it!

yah the classic looks fantastic.

I hope they put the round headlights from the Freeflow in the Nismo.

looks good. i wonder if it would look better in all black or white (or silver, etc.). the concept seems too busy imo
|
I think the quirky design works well. Look at how well the Juke is doing. That is doing much better than I ever would have imagined. Turns out some people really like different.

Based on the accompanying marketing vid -- if they can pull off the smartphone-esque customization options, it will be full of win to the next generation of car buyers.
On the other hand, Scion sort of tried this gimmick, and in the end, you are still stuck with picking from what's on the lot... If they can make this work and keep the costs down, good for them. On the other hand, they will still be limited in terms of what they can offer power and handling wise because of safety/emissions issues, so I wonder just how much "i" the idx will really provide... |
it's going to be tricky to sell this fad to a generation that most dont have much money or interest in cars.
i think for that generation, something that is actually useful (like a hatchback) might make more sense? |
