For example? I mean sure there are cars that can outrun a few of them (GTR) but the fun of driving is different. I mean Im pretty sure that driving a GT3 RS is a hell of alot more fun and rewarding than driving a GTR around a track not to mention it would take more skill too.

There was a time when I did not care for Porsche at all. Fortunately I started studying different companies and the history & experience that Porsche has is, IMO, a result of brilliant minds collaborating together.

I love their cars, but I love their race technology even more. Just the mere fact that this GT3-RS originated from such a company makes me want to own one :excited:.

The fact that the power is 450 of all motor makes me want one even more :driving:

Just my .02.

I still would care to have a car that I can work on myself. Just not a 133,000 dollar car that can not make it over a speed bump.

Have you driven both yourself to come to such a conclusion?

I lol'd.

No it is not. Far, far, FAR away from that claim. Lol. A less expensive track-prepped-from-factory vehicle? SRT10 ACR. I believe it holds the record for production cars at the Nurburgring. I know this current GT3 hasn't. But I don't think 15 crank hp and a few other adjustments will make that much of a change.

I have driven both a standard 09 GT3 and a 09 GTR yes. The GTR feels like a videogame with the paddle shifters and all the electronics on board. Its just wayy too many buttons and modes to deal with. The car while awesome was not as fun to drive as I expected. You can feel the weight when tossing it around but its pretty easy to drive. The GT3 was an experience I can never forget. The car just had a sport button, PASM settings and a TC button. Thats it. Rowing the gears and spinning that baby from about 4000k up to redline is orgasmic lol. And this car is far less forgiving than the GTR. It will bite if u disobey it. Its truly a street legal race car.

Man you have been posting a LOT lol... but that 133k car - is just like most cars... it makes it over bumps with just as much effort as a Z... and if you are capable and confidant w/ your skills - you could work on it.. but then again... why the sh!t would anyone do ANYTHING to that car... ok ok maybe a TT but there is no way you or I are installing a TT on a GT3RS

Actually Porsche is a very simple car to work on especially a car of that magnitude. Think about it, the design of that car has been the same for 20 years. So, Porsche has had 20 years to figure out the BEST was to set that car up to make it easier to access things and work on it. 20 years to say "Hmmm, if we put THIS here and THAT there it would make this a whole lot easier to get to." I had a friend that owns a car shop/garage tell me the easiest transmission to swap out and work on is Porsche hands down and this was the reason why. You could NEVERRRRR work on an R35 GT-R because it's got soo much electronic **** on it. I'm not picking on the GT-R either because I would take one in a second haha, but the fact of the matter is Porsche is the tits. I'll take a Porsche over most other things and pay the extra no problem..of course I would take a Z06 before even a Porsche probably because of the simple price difference and the Z06 is badass !:tup:

Well I was watching one of my friend's older brother change the oil on an old 911 and it was one of the funniest **** I've seen seeing him in so much agony and frustration. :D

Although a ridiculously amazing car, the GT3RS, I'd prefer the GT2 for the turbocharged aspect - which is why the GT2 is always more expensive.

GT2 = 530hp & $194,000 + 0-60mph in 3.6s
GT3 = 435hp & $112,200 + 0-60mph in 4.0s
GT3RS = 450hp & 132,800 + 0-60mph in 3.8s

My personal favorite =
911 Turbo = 500hp & $TBA(Prolly $120,000) 0-60mph in 3.4s

Porsche is a little weird on their naming contraints.

edeeZee 10-27-2009 03:15 PM

Colors = GAUDY; almost commensurate to RICE-appeal, or lack thereof.

But yeah, the car is on top of the game. All motor, high 11's or low 12's, awesome handling and tracking, near 200 mph top speed, etc.

The new GT3 RS is soooo ill!

My ideal Porsche, however, would have to be a regular GT3. You get almost all the performance and savagery from the RS in a more streetable platform. You could beat up a 997 GT3 every day of the week; through sun, rain, sleet, snow, whatever and it would keep coming back for more. Perfect car IMHO.

I <3 Porsche!!! :tup:

I honestly HATE the design of the porsches.

I just don't like them. I also don't like the ******** driving them. almost as bad as BMW drivers.
