Z may be faster but I bet that thing sounds like a monster. I think it is hard to beat the sound of the Hemi V8, especially anything straight from the factory. The only car I think that sounds better from the factory would be the Boss 302.

Wonka2581 09-13-2013 02:36 AM

I agree, The BOSS 302 Laguna Seca edition is bad ***....

Yah that protege is pretty tight. I've always liked those. Looks like it is in great shape too.

Hit up msprotege.com. People are selling them all the time for about $5K. Hard to find orange ones anymore, only the first 1500 or so (out of 6000 total) came in that color, but plenty of black, titanium, blue or yellow. It take a little bit to get them decently quick, but you can run about 10psi with just supporting mods (more with internals, injectors and fuel pump). It really is a great daily driver.

I've thought about selling mine several times... but it's the first new car I ever bought, the body is in great shape and it's incredibly fun to drive, really tossable. Plus a piece of me is hoping I can keep it running well and give it to my daughter once she turns 15 (she's 10 months old now).

It's weird, I have no plans to keep the Z. I know I'm gonna trade it in on either a GTR or CTS-V once my wife's car is paid off, but I can't seem to let go of Tang.

5 speed 1997 Maxima SE (3 liter VQ V6, five spoke alloy wheels, and a wing!). 180k miles and runs like a champ

Bought it off Craigslist a year ago for $1000 because it wouldn't turn over. I hot wired the starter and now it's push-start. Came with aftermarket headunit, speakers, lowering springs, bilstine shocks, whiteline swaybars, stillen brace, header, exhaust, lightweight flywheel, grippy clutch, and terrible paint. No rust and the interior is fine.

I have put in it: $180 of brake pads and rotors, $60 short shifter, and $40 in fluids.

I am still keeping my current car, but it will be parked 30 minutes away so I am thinking I may find a used SUV or truck for about $10,000 for when I need actual space or more seats. Any cars you guys recommend? I am thinking maybe an older Xterra or Titan or maybe a 1st or 2nd gen 4runner. Possibly a mid-90s F150 or something too.

Used Xterra would be a great option for you given your budget

I know people who have also had a great experience with the older Jeep Cherokee's and the old 4.0L V6's are really reliable

I would also suggest you look into a previous generation Honda Fit or Versa if you just need something for the extra space. I believe you could find a 2007 Fit or Versa for around $10k

My Z honestly gets driven 500 miles a year. My daily drivers are a 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 and a 2002 Honda Accord EX Coupe.

I drive 2000 miles a month so... yeah.

You got an air-cooled 911 and you baby the 370z? Thought air cooled P cars are going up in value?

Lug I love the Focus ST, great choice. I was actually really really close to buying a PB one earlier this summer, but ultimately I decided I wanted a coupe and not a hatch. What all have you done to it?

I would be looking for a truck because I will need with towing ability. I may get a Raptor next summer anyways though, so may not end up needing a second car anyway.

I washed it just last week!

....waiting for some good turbo swap options before any upgrades. Will stay stock for about another year, see how the Focus RS looks/costs, and make a decision then. Not modding at all if I decide to trade on the Focus RS.

Is that an ST2 or what?
