Gawd, me too bro. I think about how much more "retirement" money I'd have if I hadn't spent the first 20 years or so after school chasing a new sports car every year or two

I hear you! and I'm still doing it. I do put away 22% for retirement though.

great move on the 22%. I was right there with ya, until the economy forced my company to temporarily suspend the 401K match. I sure hope we turn around soon

From the present, working my way back:
1. 2004 350Z
2. 2001 Maxima
3. 1998 Olds Intrigue (lemmon!)
4. 1996 Ford Escort (super reliable, but lacked power)
5. 1994 Sentra
6. 1989 Mazda 323
8. 1986 Toyota Tercel Station Wagon (too little horsepower!)
9. 1980 Mitsubishi Champ
10. 1977 VW Rabbit (first lemmon in my life!!!)
11. 1972 VW Superbeetle (great little ride!)
12. 1967 VW Beetle (THE most reliable vehicle I've ever owned!)
13. 1960 Ford Falcon (reliable, but bland; just bare transportation)

Just two, first I had a 1996 Explorer that I blew up, now I drive an 02 Eclipse. A Z will be next unless something happens to the Eclipse and I have to get another POS to get me through this last year of college.

You know what I find interesting?

The wide range of cars we all buy. I run into people that are hardcore chevy fans, hardcore ford fans but more then anything else it seems like the "sport car" guys are not so married to one brand but try out many brands.

what I'm saying is... Despite the wide range of cars we've all had, we now have Nissans (most of us anyway). Says a lot for Nissan. Seems the car has a cultlike following too with many of the 240-350Z guys sticking with the brand. Makes me like the car even more, no way I will ever sell this one and that's a huge statement for me

You are officially part of the cult like following! Cheers to Nissan!

I'll say!

Bought the Z, bought a Roadster and when my Rover lease expires I'm seriously thinking about that Big Nissan truck at the Fontana Meet. I dont want another expensive SUV, times are too tough. Really like that new Sport truck from Ford but the write up on the motor was HORRIBLE, said its a major dog. For the $, I think the Titan may be the way to go.

I have 7 months until the lease is up, have some time but that's alot of Nissan's under one roof. But hell.. if I like them, what the heck

I bleed Ford Blue. But I'm a car guy, so that doesn't stop me from appreciating a good car.

ZCarMan and I were talking about this at our Zs & Coffee meet yesterday. The guys that swear to one brand end up hating everything else and are just miserable. True car guys appreciate all cars and are generally much happier people!

Motoextreme: Before getting the big Nissan truck (Titan?), check out their reliability record with CR. The Armada, Quest & Titan have a sub-par record. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, I have about 6 months and 7000 miles left on this overpriced SUV (I do like it a lot though)

I'll start reading up and looking for some advice when it gets a little closer. Neighbor owns some chevy and ford dealerships so he gives me cars pretty cheap. Bought that trailblazer SS from him, hated it and sold it two months later at a profit even after paying taxes. Pretty sweet deal!
