370z vs IS-F
 

Curious if any of you guys have ever lined up with an IS-F at the drag strip. I would think it would be a fairly close race with the slight edge to the F purely based on Horsepower. Thoughts? Anybody in dallas want to try it and find out :)

Stock vs stock. I don't think the Z has enough grunt to win, drivers being equal. I think the IS-F definitely has the advantage....more power, more torque.

Here's a list of real world track numbers.

From my personal times stock for stock it looks like it would definitely be a drivers race. My best stock time was a 12.97 at 109.xx which puts me in between #1 and #2 from your list of stock cars and I was averaging 13.1x's.

I haven't had a chance to run with intake and exhaust yet but will get back with numbers when it cools down a bit.

I think the IS-F would win that matchup

I have lined up against an IS-F. My car stayed with it til' about 30 mph. Then it was tailights. I don't remember the exact time that he ran. I ran a 13.2 though

i raced a ISF in a 1/8 mile and won about 2 months ago.

13.2 with the current mods in your sig?

K&N filters and short tails don't really add up to much.

I think you'd be pretty close racing someone with full bolt-on's and a 4.08 gear swap.

i took down an ISF before and i'm on stock gears and a 1/8 mile drag. actually the guy is a friend of mine and we are gonna do a 1/4 run here soon once i get new rears. right now i wouldnt have proper traction to call it a real race. my rears are at like <50% based on camber wear.

Is he all stock?

i know he has exhaust unsure of his other possible mods. never saw him with his hood up when we are at the meets.

depending on if he has headers or just exhaust he's halfway to full bolt on for an F :( We only have I/H/E and Nitrous since we can't tune them.

My car is fully bolted on, but untuned and I've lined up with two. Both of them have won and they were 100% stock. They put two cars on me. I'm not sure how much a tune will help but I'm tuning then rerunning. Closed area so no rules were broken but we did a 20 roll and 40 roll

sad to hear but ur Z is 7+yrs old technology. they were fast for its time. this day and age, there are much faster family cars out dere dan ur Z. enjoy the Z for wat they are (beauty, sound, handling).
