Switched over to the Dark Side - Corvette
 

Ok, my background = Owned a 2004.5 350Z Touring for 7 years. I bought it brand new and loved everything about it. I modded the crap out if it short of a tt setup because I PCSed to Germany (Military) and ended up buying a BMW for the wife and an F150 for me.

So when I got back to the states I quickly realized I missed my Z but with the truck that was much needed to tow our new boat I was stuck like chuck.

So I started lurking arround this forum again and felt in love with the Nismo 370Z. I wanted a red one and was committed to buy it. I decided to wait until 2014 to get the new two tone. Test drove a 13, felt in love with it.....

And then the unthinkable happen...I test drove a Corvette C6….:woot::bowrofl:
That was it folks, I was in love. So my search for a good deal started. I wanted a Red Grand Sport M6 with 2LT. Every one that I found was overpriced and the dealerships wouldn’t budge since I’m not a previous Vette owner. But with patience, I found this amazing Velocity Yellow and bought it last week.
Now I can sleep waiting for her to get delivered to me. Hopefully by the end of the week she will be here with me!

Saw a 2012 ZO6 black on black yesterday. Beautiful, beautiful, especially in person.

Poor guy driving was so old it took him legit 3 minutes just to get out of the damn thing. I was standing there like an idiot, waiting to compliment him forever.

I'm actually deciding on whether or not to supercharge my Z or get the new stingray.

Any modification/upgrade plans?

Must be pretty sick out of the box, it looks like maybe some rear window tint and smoked signals would really give it that black n yellow contrast/pop

You are right. I already ordered a 13 piece blackout kit and will get the windows tinted as soon as I get her in. Other than that keeping the engine stock for now as it comes with dual mode exhaust.

Yeap, gotta read the fine print. Many rebates come from owning previous Vettes, trading a Vette or Chevy loyalty. Is crazy.

i didnt know chevy also has that stupid mazda loyalty thing going on. that is so stupid imho. if a new buyer is willing to change brands, they should honor the same 'family' loyalty discounts. :shakes head: who the f- is loyal to some japanese hyundai (mazda) anyway? :shakes head:

Nice choice! After owning a LS6 and LS7, I think you made the right choice going with the GS and the LS3. There are a lot of great mods for that motor if you chose to go that route, and you don't have to worry about the semi-exotic nature (i.e. $$$!) of repairing/replacing the LS7. You also get the wide body, which looks awesome compared to the stock Vette.

Thanks, I love the wide body of the GS. I also prefer the LS3 over the LS7 as the LS7 has valve issues and I don't need all that power to be happy.

Don't get me wrong, I got a hell of a deal but it took some patience and a lot of bartering. Another reason why I didn’t go with a Z06 is that is not a Targa. I love that feature, I also got the Glass roof!

The targa option had me considering GS, but I couldn't get over the z06's sound and feel. But I got mine certified and paid for 3 years extra warranty to cover my behind when the ls7 kills itself lol

Never buy the first year production car. Also gotta wait until all the hype goes away to get a good deal. By then they should have a wide body version!:ugh2:

I love the GT3 RS but they just screw it up. Now the new one is Automatic.

I like the Stingray but is too expensive right now, is narrow body and you have to wait for them to work out the kinks on the new car
