Motor Trend C7 video 1.11g!

Good job Chevy. I hope this new vette motivates nissan. |
I just can't get over the looks. Wish I could as it seems to be a great car.
|
Pretty amazing car. I may look into trading my z06 in a few years, depending on what high performance versions may follow

They stepped up the game, it can only mean good things for the next generation of sports cars from other OEM's. The thing I can't get over is that they achieved 1.11g on a base model corvette with 285 rear tires! (Yes I know.. Z51 package). Only means great things in store for the higher spec models. |
They said the car LIKES slip angle...
We're done here... They don't know what slip angle is... If they WANTED slip angle, they'd put monster truck tires on it... I just lost a LOT of respect for MT... You can't put terms in there and assume the customer doesn't know what they mean |

Also, what he meant was that the car was more predictable at higher slip angles. |
Nice review of the c7 very impressive best bang for your buck and then some.

But saying "the car likes slip angle" isn't the same as more predictable at higher slip angles. And I believe the magic number is 6 degrees, you don't want higher (or lower for that matter) and you can lower the slip angle with tires with more rigid sidewalls, so, don't say the CAR likes the slip angle, say I like that these tires flex to give me more of a slip angle... (Although I have NO IDEA why you'd necessarily like more) |
I'm sorry, but this is the ugliest Corvette I've ever seen.
It may have the performance, but I'd never be caught dead driving one. |

To each their own |

Granted the 80's C4's weren't too hot, but better than the C7 IMO |
Just to continue to illustrate the range of tastes us humans have, I love the styling of the C7. It's not enough to get me to ever consider one, but I put it on positive side of the scale.

I personally think the C7 is an all around improvement over the C6. Its all good. To each their own. I see why some people don't see the appeal in the C7 but I'm not one of them. |

(Then again, love the Aston Martin nose on recent Fords, but hate it just because it's now on Fords...) |

I love the looks except for the Camaro Tailights, people should get Z06 tailights conversion if they even have that
|
For $70k, I'd probably get a 2011 GTR and be done with it. But honestly, I do like the Stingray. I've hated Chevy cars for as long as I can remember. But this? Pretty sweet imo. And for a starting price of $51k? Seriously. Not bad. Especially for what you get. Beats the crap out of the Z every way from Sunday.

To most looking for something new. The C7 is going to be the hottest thing on the planet for the money. Performance wise it will be... But I think the opinion on looks is swayed by such huge performance numbers. People just see a machine that will outperform most other cars and automatically love it. But i think if people owned the car? Looks will die fast. It has all the classic looks of a "Novelty design" that will live a short time in the hearts of the people. My prediction is, this vette will be getting refreshed often. All exterior refreshes, due to rapid changes in popular opinion concerning design.
Its not hideous but it just looks so novelty. That design wont last the test of time. DEpoint hit it on the head when he said (paraphrasing) the vette looks like a collage of sports cars... Thats the weak part of this car. |
If I were to ever get it, I would for sure get it in black to hide all the lines of the car, and lease it for shortest term possible.
Would never fully buy one. |

But that doesn't surprise me, we tend to agree on mostly everything  |

And I'd buy it. I never lease vehicles lol |
