Has anyone driven an Audi TTS? I only drove one at city speed when it first came out, curious to see if anyone has any in depth knowledge of that

Would you get a TTS
Has anyone driven an Audi TTS? I only drove one at city speed when it first came out, curious to see if anyone has any in depth knowledge of that vehicle.
I have had my Z for 3 years. Even though I should not get another vehicle, but I have always liked the Audi TTS. From a financial point of view, it makes absolutely no sense as it is twice the money for not much more performance. Yet I really want an DSG equipped vehicle so I don't have to shift anymore, the stupid automatic in the Z or most other cars are not the same thing (no offense 7AT owners). I also like the TTS as it has enough space for a baby seat and for my little dogs. I have been using my Z as a baby car, but I would prefer not to as I am not even sure if a regular babyseat can fit due to the way the seat is. And no, I don't want a Mustang or Corvette or Genesis. I am just interested in the TTS at this point. (Stupid car is 35-40K used!!!). I am probably dreaming at this point. I probably have a better chance buying a Tesla right now given our needs. |

But two stock cars shifting... one 7at from nissan. (excluding lesser autos made by ZF and Aisin) and a dct in say a bmw or audi. The difference is marginal. That said... There are better cars than Audi TTS for the money.

If you get one, you will have to come up with some clever license plate or username on the Audi boards that has two TT's in it, eat brie, quiche, and go wine tasting, plus your nose will be turned up at anything not German. And you will be glad to pay lots of money for mods.

I need to go drive one again to see if the car is really as good as it looks. I am intrigued by the DSG as I want an automatic, yet I don't want to deal with a conventional automatic since most of them lag and can't make up their own mind to save their life. It's not so much a speed thing, it's a matter of how it is done. I have driven and owned many fast cars, I don't care if the TT is slower or faster. It's just what I think might work for right now. Of course the price is little hard to swallow, but I shall see. I might wait another year or two and get a Tesla instead

It's not so much that DSG does it better. It's that the DRIVER needs to understand the technology he's working with. That said, I would very much prefer DSG if i were modding. Either way bruh, it's your money. Buy what you like. But don't fall into so-called "purist BS" about autos on stock cars. (speaking from a nissan Z/G standpoint)

I'd question, like you, whether it's worth the price. Really, to me it's not.
Also, while the exterior design is so much better than the previous one, it's still not that great a looker to me. |

$50,000 for that kind of performance and unreliability. You might as well just go BMW 135i with $7000 dinan performance pkg. Thats a much better deal.

Kidding aside, they have super nice interiors and the DSG IS nice until the controller poops out and you have to wait for parts to come in from Der Fatherland. I think they are overpriced, and I agree with others that a used Cayman S with PDK, add in sports and chrono package is a better choice.
