ATS vs 335 vs C350
2012 BMW 335i Sport vs. 2013 Cadillac ATS 3.6 vs. 2013 Mercedes-Benz C350 Sport - Comparison - Motor Trend
I had to post this article. I found the review extraordinarily similar to my opinions when comparing the ATS vs the 335. (I never had a chance to drive the new C350, so I don't know) IMHO, In terms of handling. The cadillac picks up where BMW left off in 2001. Though the BMW is the fastest between the two, the BMW335i has been overrated and overpriced for a decade now and the driving experience has dumbed down over the years... I made reference to this car in alpha Snacks thread about the Q50. That the Q has to beat this car, not the BMW. After driving the ATS, 2.0 turbo, which is not the flagship motor. I was completely and totally impressed. The 321hp v6 is the more powerful flagship motor. an upcoming 3.6litre TT is coming for the ATS-V. This article also makes reference that the ATS, feels like driving a 370z. I dare be bold to agree with this statement. The ATS is what the G37s should have been in terms of feel. IMHO, GM never got a sedan so right... And it can only get better as the years move on. Here's the video version as well. ENJOY! |
i would still choose the new accord sedan over these. why? cause it looks better and they are meh...sedans. lol

A preconceived notion vs an actual driving experience made me see the car differently. I see the ATS as the truest sports sedan out there in terms of driving experience out to $50k budget limit. Styling isn't my favorite either. But it makes me crave for a next gen camaro badly. I don't like sedans and converts, but i'm writing about it... so it's gotta be a good sedan to waste my time writing this. EDIT: The ATS is made from Hydroform steel and weighs 3400lbs with four doors. Imagine this chassis evolving to partial aluminum. They can reduce weight probably an extra 100lbs. With removing all the luxuries for a simpler interior in a sporty camaro. The Alpha may be as low as 3200-3300lbs as a camaro with a 300+hp turbo and a 450hp v8. |

BMW needs a new redesign on their front grills and bumper. The longer they have this going on none of these cars stand out from the rest.
I really want to try out the ATS, ill never forget 2006 during the real estate boom out here my roommate bought a CTS-V and let me drive it when he was drunk one night. That thing put your head back in your seat it was so much fun. |

While the Koreans still need to work on some performance issues concerning many models. I feel they've made bolder steps than the japanese in regular styled sub-premium vehicles. While my preference still lies with japanese for reliability and quality. The Koreans show promise in there perseverance to strive for more. I have respect and like the Kia design. There is a reality of you get what you pay for. While i wouldnt call korean cars cheap. They still don't live up to current japanese standards... for now. But im watching closely. Cuz I see japan making some shyt moves lately as well. If that makes me a loser? So be it.:tiphat: But uou guys know this is a ATS thread right???? |
That TT motor has not been confirmed for the ATSV. That motor will go into the new CTS V sport. A new V for the ATS or CTS has not been confirmed or announced by GM yet regardless of what Jalopnik or other sites say. Trust me, I'm on the V boards and this has been discussed thoroughly. I think they are deciding on how to slot a real V into the GM line up. Right now the new C7 Vette does not match the current V in terms of power. So until a new ZR1 that's C7 based I don't think we get to see a new V. The current V will be sold as a 2014 model with orders placed this month.

True, I'm just saying that GM has not announced a ATSV yet but it is true that you can order the current CTSV as a 2014 model. That just started this week as people have placed orders. The pecking order for these models in relation to the new C7 has mot been made public. It's doubtful that a new V wagon comes out, people think that ship has sailed and they will become collectors cars, even more if it's a manual 6 speed. My local dealer wants me to trade my 09 V for an new ATS. I told her she was nutty for that suggestion.
Too bad I did not have space to keep the Nismo, they would be a good pair to own as compliments to each other. |

EDIT: This is what we do know... GM is test running a ATS-V variant vehicle against BMW's M3 sedan. Obviously they are on the attack to make a better performance sedan than the M3. Now I don't know what's under the hood, but i doubt it's a v8. It would be too front heavy and cause plowing in the corners. BMW usually runs a high tech small v8 (4.4ltr) or there signature v6 turbo. I don't see GM spending money on a v8 small and powerful enough to compete against the M3. My educated guess would be the rumor is probably closer to fact than rumor. Either way, The ATS-V being tested to outperform the M3 is exactly what GM/Cadillac needs to revitalize the brand I'm wishing Cadillac the best of luck in this difficult task they took on. While BMW's have been generally overrated. The M-series remains a force to be reckoned with. This is going to be an insane battle. http://blogs.automotive.com/spied-20...m3-140515.html |
