New to Harley's and opinions needed!

Ok so my father is getting a harley from a dealership owned by his buddy and since he is getting a fatboy lo and buying EVERYTHING to go with it that he'd give me $1500 to $3000 off invoice on any bike in the shop. So I'm going to take the dive into harley ownership.

Ok so here's my question I've allways riden sports bikes all my life and just want something different after not owning one for 4 years. but I don't want to lose the power and sporty feel. What do y'all recommend I'm 6'3" and 175 pounds (I'm thin) lol I really like the 883 but like I said don't know anything about Harley's.

ALSO thought I should add that the V-ROD isent an option.

I appreciate your input and I can do most of the research just want y'all to throw some names and reasons for liking the particular bike

Whatever you buy, get one that is quiet. People will thank you for it.

I went from a sportbike to a VROD back in 2007 and loved it. I have since sold the VROD when I bought the Z (no need for both and the bike sat in the garage collecting dust). I had a couple friends buy Softtail Standards at the same time and they enjoyed them. IMO, the VROD is the closest to a sportsbike, but since its out of the question, I don't know what other models will get you that feeling.

And I put loud Vance & Hines pipes and never heard a complaint. "Loud pipes save lives".

That's because no one gives a $hit about you
