Great (rumoured) news for Mustang Fanboys

Hard to tell. They kind of look like the existing Brembos which are 4 pot. It's a nice big caliper, though, which does a good job with cooling.

True... Those tailpipes look kinda small though. I'm guessing that not the final exhaust. And the blue stang seemed to have less body roll than the prototype. So im guessing they're not testing performance yet?

I think it's too difficult to judge any performance from that video. The exhaust tips definitely don't look like the finished product. As with any test mule we never really know what exactly it is they are testing. It could be the flux capacitor for all we know.

Just pointing out the current mustang was rollin' stiffer than the prototype. That's all. Not making any judgement calls... YET!

Co-worker said they are the current brakes off the GT500, the last few changes in brakes have been the standard mustang gets the old GT500 brakes.

I couldn't really tell. They were going slow so I couldn't really make anything out.

Doesn't look like it, though. The calipers look quite different.

And I doubt that ford would put a 15" front rotor on the base GT.

They might be doing a track pack option.
Basically make more money with everything as an option, Euro is use to that. Start with a base GT, track option adds springs or sways with a BBK, maybe some better aero, tech package, etc.

I just don't see it getting a 15" BBK for anything but the Boss/GT500 variant.

The existing "sport package" type GT gets a 14" Brembo BBK. From the looks of it, the front caliper *looks* just like the current Brembo caliper used in the 14" kit.

Reduced weight chatter and rumored 475hp??? I dunno bout that? Especially if the next gen stang ends up being 3400lbs or less? I see it possible.

Well Ford has been saying for the longest time that they want the incoming models to be at least 250lbs lighter than the ones they replace. So it's possible that the next gen will come in under 3400lbs (3600-250 = 3350).

The S550 chassis does look a little smaller than the S197. There is a lot of padding/cladding hiding whats really going on with that car.

475 hp? Entirely possible. The current GTs are underrated at 420hp. With direct injection they should easily make more than 450hp.

250lbs and 475hp... What if the 475 ends up being underrated? That car will need serious stopping power. The current brembo brake kit isn't getting straight a's in reviews, so i can definitely see the potential for an upgrade in braking, along with weight reduction and a power spike.

Ford takes being on the number one spot seriously. The SS1LE shattered the GT/Track pkg. Next years car from mustang is going to shatter camaro SS1LE, guaranteed. That's what chevy and ford do... Take turns shattering each others ego each other every 2 years. Next year is Ford's turn Long live the muscle car wars.

The Brembos are actually very good. Like almost any car, they need a pad and fluid upgrade for hardcore driving. That's it.

I know, but pound for pound on track. The camaro has received much more praise for it's stock brembo kit for not fading. while ford has had fade issues from stock under certain conditions, like our akebono's have issues under certain conditions

The 14" brembos seemed to be fine on the 550hp GT500 while dealing with more weight than this guy is likely to. I expect they'll be fine for reasonable track duty.
