Reduced weight chatter and rumored 475hp??? I dunno bout that? Especially if the next gen stang ends up being 3400lbs or less? I see it possible.

The S550 chassis does look a little smaller than the S197. There is a lot of padding/cladding hiding whats really going on with that car. 475 hp? Entirely possible. The current GTs are underrated at 420hp. With direct injection they should easily make more than 450hp.

Ford takes being on the number one spot seriously. The SS1LE shattered the GT/Track pkg. Next years car from mustang is going to shatter camaro SS1LE, guaranteed. That's what chevy and ford do... Take turns shattering each others ego each other every 2 years. Next year is Ford's turn ![]()

I know, but pound for pound on track. The camaro has received much more praise for it's stock brembo kit for not fading. while ford has had fade issues from stock under certain conditions, like our akebono's have issues under certain conditions

With pad/fluid upgrades these systems are going to perform almost identically. The only caveat would be the Akebono system, which is in a much greater need of additional air cooling than the Brembo calipers used on the Mustang/Camaro. The latter are bigger and do a better job of expelling heat. The Akebonos have a nasty habit of retaining a lot of it and really benefit from ducting. I do really like mine with DS2500 pads and ATE Blue, though.

Point of previous statements was simple based on what looks like a larger caliper and a reason why Ford would want to improve on the brakes they already have. Which is based on the camaro v8 SS/1LE performance. It's direct competitor. Though you're mostly accurate concerning Z brakes to a point. (Z brakes don't give problems in cooler weather with the proper upgrades. Brake hoses necessary for summer driving). It's not relevant to the Camaro/mustang (challenger)redesign war. ![]() Quote:

They are great for track duty. Just needs an appropriate pad with DOT 4 fluid. Additional cooling is always a plus.
