A has nothing to do with B. Nissan doesn't try to compete with mustang from a power standpoint. If you are looking for a stang competitor. Look at t he other muscle cars to fill that void.
Also, Hyundai is planning a next gen v8 coupe based on the 5.0 spec R genesis. That will be a mustang competitor.

I remember an older article about Ford having a new machine that produces prototype body panels, was very cool.

It's too well developed to be a fake front end. The photographer trespassed onto private property to get those shots. It's legit, and Ford is pissed, but they are keeping quiet about it.
