Default Opinions Wanted - 2013 Honda F6B

The new Honda Goldwing "Bagger" is being pumped up by Honda and all the bike rags. Of course most all the cycle rags are infamous for being in the pockets of the manufacturers. I've been a Honda guy for a long time and I've been riding bikes for over 40 years. There's two Hondas in the garage right now. My first impression is polar opposite from the screaming in the cycle mags. Maybe it's just me. The 370Z crowd is definitely in touch with styling. What do you think of the F6B?

800lb. Lazy Boy lounger on wheels, if you drive a bike that big you might as well just be in a comfortable car.

The car is cheaper, more comfortable, better protection, no helmets and will last longer.

Most don't want sport bikes when they get older. Comfort takes a bigger priority over speed and to many this style of bike is what they like. Personally I gravitate toward the adventure bikes over the touring bikes since I like riding on dirt roads as well. However if I just wanted to ride roads this F6B would be in consideration.

Thumbs down

Personally that bike is wack!!! I love Honda but not in that style. Get a Harley if your wanting that look and style. Get a real bike not a counterfeit.

You don't need a sportbike, any bike that weighs less than 500lbs is fine, when you get in the 800lb. couch class they simply fail to be motorcycles anymore.

Most of the naked up right bikes like the sv65o, kaw 650 versys, FZ1 etc. are really decent bikes with out some over weight, underpowered POS.

Even look at the new Honda cb1100 and while it looked nice, when you sit on the bike and look it over well, it reminds you of the heavy overweight 750-1100cc jap bikes of the late 70's and early 80's and the price of $10k is just to high for cheap low tech components used and low hp.

Honda has failed in 2 other attempts at bring out 2 retro bikes, one was the GB500 café single, and another one was a V twin 600 sportbike, both were great bikes , but Honda over priced them compared to all the other comparable main stream bikes and no one would pay top dollar for a simply overpriced bike.

$5900 for the CB1100 is more what its worth, when compared to even the new cb500 for $5499 and the Kawaski 650 versys for $7500

The current indian is still a $25K Harley clone.

We'll have to wait and see what Polaris does with the new indian engine released, hopefully the bike won't be overpriced, if they can keep the price from $10K-$14k ppl might buy it , but not at $25k.

Most motorcycles have gone so far up in price that only the upper middle can afford them.

Honda seems to be marketing the F6B on style, but like 1st said it's a poor copy of a Harley bagger. At $20,000 I don't see them selling a lot of these. The Gold Wing has had the touring market for a long time now. On Honda's web site they list 16 "innovations" in the F6B. Of all 16 only the "low profile windscreen" is new. Taking a great touring bike, changing the rear seat and bags, and chopping off the windshield is not "innovative". As far as style, from all angles the F6B will definitely turn heads. People will be wondering why someone would take a Sawsall to a Gold Wing.
