Not good at all for boost since they are prone to blowing up stock. There is a reason why they supercharged an LS3 and called it an LS9 and put it in the ZR1.

I lol at this...

as Livernois is modifying a friends z06 with a N/A package expected to net 630 rwhp...

Sorry, but the Z is not exclusive. Exclusive implies that there are some sort of barriers to entry. The Z is no more or less expensive than a similarly optioned Mustang or Camaro.

you're telling me that any ordinary joe with decent credit could walk up and buy one? I find that doubtful. I had to show that I'd owned three Z's previously as well as demonstrate that I had 20,000 posts on a Nissan forum before they let me purchase mine.

i like it even though back reminds me of prelude a little

looks good man

Many reputable sites have Superchargers for sale as well...

You're lucky they didn't make you walk the highwire over a den of lions to attain your Z. This thing is so "Exclusive." :roflpuke2:

I had never financed a car before in my life. C6 Z06 was my first vehicle I financed. Bought it new for my 25 birthday present from me to myself. I paid 5% interest. Not bad for a first car/never owned a house. When I bought my 370z (traded) a little over a year later, they didn't even run my credit. 3.2% interest for 72mo on this one. Obtaining financing for things you honestly can afford is pie if you've not made many stupid errors or your true/full income is not provable (waiter/bartender).

I forget what it was, but the valve guides or stems or something on some LS7's were out of spec and they were snapping valves. GM traced the problem back and fixed it. This was a rare (by the numbers)---but legit issue.

Def. see 20x (maybe more) Camaro's and Mustang's than you do Z's. Not saying "exclusive", but maybe "rare" is the correct word?

I could go a week without seeing a 370, but not one mile without seeing a Camaro or Mustang (new body style).

That's why I enjoy the Z even more.

Either way, you can make all the power you want, but if you look ugly while doing it you're not going to get any attention from me, Ford & Chevy.

:iagree:

Seems like they Camaro'd the Corvette's taillights and unCamaro'd the Camaro's taillights :icon17:

Didn't say they weren't all I stated was that the LS7s had issues early on. I am sure you can build the engine for boost. There are builds with 700-800 rwhp with no issues reported.

This is what I was talking about. It was an issue with the LS7 early on. Given over the years of development I would hope the primary issues have been fixed. Still there is a reason why they chose to supercharge the LS3 for the ZR1 and not the LS7 due to it having thinner cylinder walls. Reliablity issues.

I wasn't trying to get this off topic was just replying to boosting it. I like the direction Chevy is going with the Camaro similar to what Ford has done with the Mustang. For the track I would go with this Z28. It's going to get even better when they get to the ATS chassis. Even lighter weight.
