It's almost perfect- you can now get an Evo without being forced to own a Mitsubishi. :rofl2:

That front end looks pretty good actually, but the rest of the car looks like crap. Someone else mentioned its resemblance to the Senta and EVO and I definitely agree it looks a lot like both in many ways.

I don't really mind the production version, although it feels like Subaru's designs have been regressing each generation, kind of like Toyota after the 90s.

What is awful, though, is the bait-and-switch they pulled with the concept. That looked like a car I would aspire to own, a little more mature and upscale. I understand many concepts are wild design exercises, but the WRX concept looked nearly production ready.

This reminds me of GM's epic fail with the Volt launch. They inspired thousands of pre-orders online with a sleek concept, then unveiled a frumpy, bland sedan and then seemed indignant that people turned their noses up at it.

For the WRX STI, there are far, far worse cars to copy on the outside than the Evo. Love the Evo look, so it's hard to not like the new WRX STI for me.

Yeah, I loved that concept they showed.

Put a front lip spoiler on it and it'll make a significant difference to how the front end looks. Same goes for the current generation STi. I put one on mine and it makes a world of difference, IMO. (Plus it's actually functional.)

With no lip spoiler:

I don't mind how the rest of the body looks. But then again, I guess I'm somewhat biased as an owner of the current gen.

who makes the lip spoiler? i want one.

Fitment is perfect. All mounting hardware included. Put the front up on jackstands and put it on myself in about 20 mins. You can feel a real difference in front end stability starting at around 80mph.

Per the article above:
Quote:

305-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter flat four producing 290 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm.
That's identical to the specs of the current model.

And it's really not very pretty.

god in silver that looks like the front of a pontiac or holden, mashed with an evo, with the *** of a kia.

i love my current-gen WRX.

I think it has been a while since Subaru has reported accurate numbers, so who knows what that means.

I regret selling mine now.

Man, that is not a flattering angle.

It could have ridiculous performance, but there's no desirability to drive that lifeless looking brick. You could easily pass it off as a decade-old design, too. Subaru might have some of the laziest designers on the planet.
