JDMphasis: Project G37S

I often kick myself for choosing the G37 over the 370Z. I owned a 350Z and always wished I had the G35, so, naturally, I thought I would prefer the G37 over the 370Z. The grass is always greener, I suppose. I am not suggesting I do not love my G, but I have a feeling I would be enjoying a 370Z just a bit more. I miss the sportiness of the Z; tighter suspension and shorter wheelbase, not to mention the abundance of aftermarket options. Anyway, I have done a few things to my G and figure, after a couple years of membership here, I may as well post up a few pictures. This car has gone through multiple stages with many different parts. I will do my best to chronicle everything from here on out...

I wholeheartedly believe in supporting the true visionaries and pioneers of the industry. You will not find a replica/knock-off part on my car. Everything is authentic. I do not say that to spark debate, but to simply stress that I have not cut any corners with this build. It is far from complete, but I will try to update this thread with the progress of the build...

Thanks for reading.

Creating this disorganized thread has, among other things, made me realize I need some better shots of the car. These pictures do not exactly reflect the car as it sits right now. I will make attempts to update this thread as things progress.

Looks good, better in person I bet. +1 on keeping everything authentic for parts.

As for kicking yourself, I say you can always sell the G: or just keep the G and get a Z on top of it. :driving:

Innovation over imitation

Looks great with quad tips and those are some quality parts there!

Sweet! Is it smooth or rough? Z is a rough daily driver

Looks fantastic. I think there is some "grass is greener". Sometimes I drive a G37 and think, "If I'd have just saved a bit more, I could have a little less fun for more comfort"

Car looks absolutely badazz, bro.

With the amount of work I have in this car, I think I will keep it for a while. I sold my Z and, to this day, have regretted not finishing it.

Thank you. The exhaust took about ten months from start to finish. It was arduous and trying at times enduring the wait, but I am quite happy with it. :p

Thank you. I guess I just miss my previous Z. From the start, I knew I wanted to stay in line with the "tuner" theme. So, with the modifications, and consequently, the loss of all the convenient, comforting functions of the seats and steering wheel and the tighter/stiffer suspension, it sort of became more of a sport with a splash of luxury car, as opposed to a luxury-sport car. (If that makes sense.) I certainly do not regret purchasing this car, but I do think if I could go back and do it over, I'd choose a Z.
