This makes 3 of us! Haha.
I once had someone literally line up next to me for like 4 blocks. Since there was no traffic he just stuck next to me revving his gay little 4banger.. I usually try to stay away from driving dumb.. But boy was i annoyed.. Especially because he couldn't stop staring.. So i had me a good laugh when i left him miles behind in like 2 seconds lol

Now if I was boosted
Lmao! I love doing that. Ill say "yeah yeah when the light turns green".. And as soon as it turns green they floor it so hard they cant even catch traction (how embarrassing) i just go on about my day. I take off at like 2mph as i have me a good laugh lol.

Not a flyby from the car but an attempt by an FRS salesperson.

On Tuesday I had to meet with a client who works in the back office at a local Scion dealership, so I park up front of the dealership in front of 5 FRS's. Young male salesperson approx 25-28 years old comes walking quickly up to me, first words out of his mouth were, "are you thinking about trading that Z in for one of these", points at the FRS's. I thought that was pretty humouros of him, so I laugh and say "thank you but no, I'm here to see my client who works in the back".
Conversation then went like this.
Sales person: "did you test drive the FRS before you bought your Z?"
Me: "yes I did".
Sales person: "and what you'd think about it?"
Me: "I liked it, but just felt it was under powered to suit me".
Sales person: "well you know, you could just turbo it and it would be faster than your Z".
Me: " ahh yes, but then couldn't I turbo the Z as well, and if I did, wouldn't it still be faster than a turboed FRS?"
Sales person: hesitates, then says "I'll call your client for you from the back".

I don't actively troll for cars to kill in my V, well maybe D-Bags in M3's and an occasional B8 S4, but spirited driving is fun and killing a FRS or BRZ would make me into a boosted bully. I got killed by a MILF in a X6M while I was out driving the Nismo one day. So it was either boost the Z or get the V. Getting killed by a MILF....ughhh. I went with the V as it was already boosted and I wanted a bit more room. A boosted Z versus a stock V, that would be interesting. I got it in December, with all the cold weather I have yet to really open it up since I have the Pilot Sports and they hate cold weather. I plan to take it to the strip this spring.

Not at all, but I guess an objective conversation about the strengths/weaknesses of certain models isn't going to be found in a forum geared toward a specific model. You're right.

The BRZ is an excellent vehicle. It has it's weaknesses compared to the Z, just as the Z has its weaknesses compared to a Mustang 5.0, which is also an excellent vehicle. That's fine.

However, saying the BRZ is a "rear wheel drive corolla" is pure fanboyism, much like the resulting circlejerk.

You can't be politically correct all the time. Lighten up you will live longer. If anyone takes it that serious then I would begin to worry. We are talking about cars. If one doesn't suit your taste good news there are many to try that may tickle your fancy.

The GT86 is an overpriced car with a weak 4 banger engine. It has the crappiest interior I have ever witnessed. They purposely put low grip tires on it to raise the "thrill" factor. The only reason why it has gotten the attention that is has is because it is a "cheap" rear drive car with a "well sorted" suspension for the equipment that it comes with. A rarity in the modern age.

But that is also the problem. It really isn't that cheap. And what happens when you put real tires on it? All you end up having is a cheap car with a suspension that far outpaces its engine. There goes your fun factor.

Well.... the car IS based on the original corolla They eluded to it so many times during its development so I don't see what's wrong with calling it a corolla now.

I personally like the looks of the BRZ/FR-S (but not compared to the FR-S concept). I actually was watching the development of the car for years when it was the ft86 but once they finally released the hp/tq/weight numbers I was turned off and went with the Z. Haven't experienced anyone try to line up next to me yet though lol.

That's right... I can't find myself spending $30k on a N/A 4-banger. Remember the Mugen Civic? Don't get me started on that. The only high dollar N/A 4-bangers I thought were cool back then were the S2000 and the ITR.

I wanted to see how fast a M6 was but he appeared to be laughing and refused to play with me after about 5 seconds so I sauntered back behind him forever wondering how bad an M6 would beat me. Feel my pain.

I'm doing about 30mph, this one light goes from green to yellow to red superfast and I was real close to it. I could have slammed the brake but I was really close to the corner and the yellow just hit so I knew I had 2 seconds. What to do? I took the most bad azz right the Z can take and I must have looked kool doin it b4 the light actually went red? Because some Dork azz cornball in a BRZ, I guess observed my abrupt and roll free turn (Thank you Eibach & Swift) and thought Ooooh, potential challenge...
Well my light turned red fast but his green took some time for him to move. On that block I was cruising about 42mph, when this Azzhole in a BRZ does about 65-70mph so he can make a dramatic ricer fly-by.

Ok so I am sooo.... ugh NOT impressed. He' needed 7450rpm's for his cheezy ricer fly-by??? Do it to a Civic rice boy. When you can beat a gencoupe 2.0's around a track? WHICH THEY CANT. Then challenge 3.8's and v6 mustangs, when you beat them, Then challenge Z's you lower life-form.

We hit a light, I'm on the far right, he's on the far left. Light turns green and traffic is in front of us. He tries to make some fancy moves around cars and goes fast, gets about half a block ahead. Then dramatically slows down So when the light turns red we're next to each other...

I guess he thought his Greddy intake and exhaust was good for 100hp. Mind you he's on those weak azz stock tires and his car is Dirtier than Governor Christie's Shyt stained drawz...

I was so annoyed. I was supposed to go straight and and then get on the highway to another area where there are restaurants. Made a right instead and dealt with street traffic so I didn't have to be next to that cornball...

That was my first BRZ, that had come around me acting like a Civic driver. You expect it from a Civic. But from a BRZ owner. You want to get out the car and pimp-slap him around like the lil bytch he is...
"Where's mah munneyy ho-azz Bytch. Gimmie that toy car and I'll sell it at it's real value.... $20 grand. lol

Thats my first BRZ challenge story.
I don't think it matters what you are driving, there will ALWAYS be someone trying to prove that their car is better than yours. In 94, I purchased a Pontiac Firebird Formula and within 1 mile from the dealership on the ride home, I had a Mustang GT pull up next to me at a stop light. When the light turned green, he took off like the cops were after him. I looked at my wife and said, "I told you that was going to happen by a Mustang" and I was right. This doesn't happen much any more, but I had to teach a Porsche Boxter a lesson (with the same Formula) when he tried to accelerate past me at a toll road exit. He thought that his car was "bada$$", but when I walked by him, he was like . Back then it was the Pontiac, and now it's the Z. Next time it will be whatever else I have. At my age, stuff like this doesn't bother me anymore as I just let them think they are cool. All I can say now is
shadoquad and DEpointfive0 like this.
