What are your guys' thoughts on these lap times?
I feel like this event every year shows a lot of upsets! Such as a Boxster S beating a 2013 M6??

Any other upsets you guys see?

Such a fail that the 370Z is .5 seconds quicker than a 350Z

But I'm happy the ISF beat the M3, which is a surprise, but I have one, so happy me!

EDIT... Same exact time, lol

you should be able to get better time just by getting grippier tires, no?

I don't know if you're talking about the 370 v 350

The ISF IS a slower car around a track, so I'm amazed it got by in the same time actually

i always follow this as i do a good amount of tracking up at VIR (full course not the grand course like the test) so I looked at this a few weeks ago and my thoughts were the two things for the 2013 group... #1 the LFA did about what i would have guessed and that #2 damn ferrari must have brought out one of their special 458s for the test lol. that car pulling a 2:49 and beating a Zr1 time that was on Michelin cup tires just seems crazy. I would have pegged the car to be around 2:52-2:53 based on how it usually stacks up in other tests like this.

other thought was the ZL1 camaro had a solid time i would have guessed it right at or just squeezing in under the 3 min mark

I agree on the Ferrari thing. You can never trust a single Ferrari lap time from a car magazine with all their cheating. Poor car magazines have to go along with it though or they can't drive a Ferrari again!

My 09 CTS-V still beats the new M6, that's what I like. Go look at the list as tabulated from 2008 to include all times up to 2013.

What I find most interesting is how fast the Camaro ZL1 is b/w Ferrari and Mercedes AMG . . .

Porsche Boxster S - 3.04.2 Similar acceleration to the 370Z, totally killed it's time. Underscores my opinion of the 370Z's suspension and dynamics. Horrible, difficult to control over anything but a billiard-table, and not very good for sweeping corners.
Audi RS5 - 3.04.3 Impressive.
BMW M6 - 3.04.7 We all knew it was a touring car.
BMW M5 - 3.05.2 See above.
Audi S6 - 3.09.8 Touring car.
BMW 335i sedan - 3.13.2 Disappointing.
Hyundai Genesis 3.8 R - 3.13.9 About what I thought.
Dodge Charger Pursuit - 3.17.8 Oink oink!
Subaru BRZ - 3.18.6 About what I figured. 2008 S2000 CR did 3:15.0...wait for the STI model to compete with that.
Ford Focus St - 3.21.4 Cool.
Chevy Caprice PPV - 3.23.0 I care, why?

Seriously, they were doing early trial runs the first day and ran over the key fob. They couldn't run on game day so they posted one of the "Get to know the car" laps from the day before. ST normally will be a bit faster than the BRZ and slower than the Gen Coupe. ST owners are up in arms!
